At the top of the range charts, the BYD Seal claims approximately 650 km on a full charge using its high-capacity battery – a figure that makes it one of the longest-range electric cars available in India across all segments.
Among volume-segment SUVs, the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 claim up to 650 km and 535 km respectively on their top variants. The Tata Nexon EV Long Range delivers up to 465 km, making it the range leader in the popular sub-₹20 lakh bracket.
It is worth noting that real-world range typically runs 15–25% below certified figures, particularly in Indian summer heat with air conditioning running. A car claiming 465 km will likely return 360–400 km in mixed Indian conditions.
For most city and suburban drivers covering 40–80 km per day, even the more modest options like the Tata Punch EV (up to 421 km) comfortably provide several days of driving between charges.
