1. What is the expected price of the Tata Safari EV?

The Tata Safari EV should cost around Rs 22 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). Still, Tata will reveal the official price at launch.

2. When will the Tata Safari EV launch in India?

Tata hasn’t confirmed a date yet. Earlier reports pointed to Diwali 2026. However, newer reports suggest a debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2027 or a launch by March 2027.

3. What is the range of the Tata Safari EV?

Reports suggest around 500 km for the 65 kWh and around 600 km for the 75 kWh. Of course, real-world range will be lower.

4. Is the Tata Safari EV a 7-seater?

Yes. The Safari EV should come with three rows, offering 7 seats or a more comfortable 6-seat layout with captain seats.

5. Will the Tata Safari EV be Tata’s first 7-seater EV?

Yes. It will be Tata’s first three-row electric SUV. Until now, Tata’s EVs have offered five seats only.

6. Does the Tata Safari EV come with AWD?

It should. Reports suggest a dual-motor AWD option with the 75 kWh battery. Meanwhile, the 65 kWh will likely stick to rear-wheel drive.

7. How powerful is the Tata Safari EV?

The RWD version may make around 235 bhp. In comparison, the AWD version could deliver up to around 385 bhp, which is a lot for a family SUV.

8. How is the Safari EV different from the diesel Safari?

First, the EV drops the diesel engine for electric motors and a big battery. Also, it should get a closed grille, aero wheels and a triple-screen dashboard. On top of that, it may offer AWD, which the diesel Safari doesn’t.

9. Which platform does the Tata Safari EV use?

It should ride on Tata’s acti.ev+ platform, the same base as the Harrier EV. As a result, both SUVs should share motors and batteries.

10. Which cars will the Tata Safari EV rival?

The Safari EV should take on three-row electric SUVs like the Mahindra XEV 9S and the MG Hector Tomahawk EV.

11. Will the Tata Safari EV get ADAS?

Yes, most likely. Reports point to Level 2 ADAS with features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking.
