What Every Tesla Roadster Version Gets
All three versions share the same claimed range of over 480 km and a fan-powered suction system under the car that pulls it towards the road for extra grip. Every version is built as a low, wide electric sports car focused on extreme acceleration. The battery size, motor power, charging, interior and safety details are yet to be revealed.
Tesla Roadster Performance
The Performance is the entry version and the road-ready Roadster. It seats two and gets active aerodynamics along with the suction system, which keeps it stable and planted at high speeds. It goes from 0 to 96 km/h in under 1.6 seconds, which is still quicker than most supercars. With an expected price from around Rs 2 crore, it’s the most affordable way to own the Roadster.
Tesla Roadster Thrust
The Thrust is the race-ready version. It seats two and adds rear-mounted cold-gas thrusters, developed with SpaceX technology, that push the car even harder off the line. That cuts the 0 to 96 km/h time to under 0.9 seconds. It’s a limited edition, with one order per customer, and its expected price goes up to around Rs 10 crore. Tesla says the thrusters may not be offered in markets where local laws don’t allow them.
Tesla Roadster Rocket
The Rocket is the most extreme version. It’s a single-seater with thrusters all around the body, which let it move forward, upward and sideways, and even lift off the ground for short hops. It does 0 to 96 km/h in under 0.59 seconds and has a top speed of over 370 km/h. The Rocket is invite only, and its price and India availability are yet to be announced.
Which Tesla Roadster Version Should You Buy?
For most buyers, the Performance is the best choice. It has the lowest expected price, the lowest reservation amount and the same 480+ km range as the other versions, with acceleration that’s still faster than almost anything on the road. Pick the Thrust if you want the quickest launches and don’t mind the much higher price and possible legal limits on thrusters. The Rocket is invite only, so it’s not an option for most people.
