Tesla Roadster Thrust Features
The Thrust takes everything from the Performance and adds the Roadster’s most talked-about feature: rear-mounted cold-gas thrusters. These use compressed air from high-pressure tanks, not fuel, to push the car forward harder. They also help with sharper cornering and stronger braking.
You still get the multi-mode suction system, a fan-powered setup under the car that pulls it towards the road for extra grip, along with active aerodynamics for stability at high speeds.
Inside, the Thrust seats two. Tesla hasn’t revealed the full cabin yet, but going by Tesla’s other cars, expect a clean, minimal layout with a big touchscreen. Details like screen size, seats, sound system, and storage are yet to be revealed.
Tesla Roadster Thrust Safety
Safety features and crash test ratings are yet to be revealed. The Roadster hasn’t been crash-tested yet, and Tesla has noted that the car is not yet approved for public road use.
Tesla Roadster Thrust Range and Charging
Tesla claims a range of over 480 km for the Thrust. Real-world range will be lower, especially if you use the full performance often. Battery size, charging speed and charging time are yet to be revealed. Tesla’s Supercharger network in India is still small, so plan your charging before you book.
What the Thrust Does Not Have
The Thrust can’t lift off the ground. Only the Rocket gets thrusters all around the body for short airborne hops and sideways movement. The Rocket is also quicker, with 0 to 96 km/h in under 0.59 seconds, but it’s a single-seater and invite only.
What the Thrust Adds Over the Performance
Compared with the performance, the Thrust adds rear-mounted cold-gas thrusters, which cut the 0 to 96 km/h time from under 1.6 seconds to under 0.9 seconds. Both have two seats and the same 480+ km range. The Thrust’s reservation amount is Rs 2.50 crore, compared with Rs 50.06 lakh for the Performance.
Who Should Buy the Tesla Roadster Thrust?
This version suits buyers who want the quickest launches a two-seat roadster can offer, and who don’t mind the much higher price. It’s also a limited edition, which makes it more exclusive. But since the thrusters may not be allowed in some markets, it’s worth confirming India’s rules with Tesla first. If you want the Roadster at a lower price without any legal questions, the Performance is the safer pick.
