There are two interesting developments happening right now in different parts of the industrial world. On the one hand, Quantum Energy, an electric two-wheeler company, just launched a new commercial electric scooter, named BZiness XS, priced at ₹57,750. On the other hand, the ZF Group, a major technology firm, is busy showing off its latest mining solutions at the International Mining Exhibition (IME) 2025 in Kolkata.
Quick Battery Swapping
The most notable feature of the BZiness XS is the disruptive battery system running on Indofast Energy’s swapping network. In this way, long waiting hours associated with normal charging are avoided. Any rider with a low battery can swap it for a fully charged one in under two minutes at any one of Indofast’s 1,100-plus swap stations nationwide. Being the energy owners, Indofast bills its customers on flexible monthly plans from ₹999 to enticing EMI options of ₹1,499.
The idea is to gradually bring a shift in the perception of battery swapping from being regarded solely as a solution for fleet operators to being the method of choice for urban mobility. According to Indofast, their network has already handled more than 43 million battery swaps. They plan to roll out 1,000 Bziness XS scooters under the new partnership in the current financial year (FY 2025–26) alone.
ZF Targets Mining Industry
Meanwhile, at the IME 2025 in Kolkata, ZF Group showcased its solutions intended for heavy-duty mining and construction. This display of the company synchronises with its global focus on electrifying off-highway equipment for future zero-emission standards. As a company with a long history in engineering, ZF focused on demonstrating how its drivetrain technology and components can handle the extreme conditions found in mines. Their products are made to be both powerful and reliable, even under the heaviest loads.
Smart Monitoring Service
Beyond the physical parts, ZF also talked about its support services aimed at increasing machine uptime. They introduced the ProVID smart condition monitoring system. This clever tool checks the vehicle’s engine and transmission in real-time, helping spot potential issues early on. By offering this kind of predictive maintenance service, ZF helps its mining and construction clients extend the life of their machines and keep them working reliably.
