Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the Ather 450X in India. Its prices start from Rs 1,53,499 (effective ex-showroom) and include the Rs 5,500 state subsidy. The scooter also got a new, bigger 900 W charger that the brand claims boosts the charging speeds by up to 30%.
New Colours
The Ather 450X Overtones is available in three colour schemes: Space Grey, Lunar Grey, and Still White. All of these colours cost Rs 1,000 extra when compared to the standard, base colour schemes of the 450X. The Space Grey colour gets a faint grey base body colour, which is then complemented by dark charcoal colour graphics and yellow accents. The Lunar Grey comes with similar graphic schemes but in lighter shades of grey. And, lastly, the Still White – which is the cleanest-looking colour among these – comes with pure white body panels, overlaid by grey graphics. All of these colours look quite sporty and go with the 450X’s compact character well.
New Charger
Along with new colour schemes, Ather also offers a new, bigger charger with the Ather 450X Overtones Variant. Previously, the electric scooter came with a 700 W charger as standard, but now the brand has offered a 900 W charger with the scooter, and claimed that the scooter’s charging speed has been boosted by up to 30%.
More Details About The Ather 450X
The Ather 450X is a sporty electric scooter from the Bengaluru-based start-up. It is also the most technologically advanced product from the brand, alongside the Ather Rizta, which is a family scooter.
The Ather 450X is offered with two battery pack options: 2.9 kWh and 3.5 kWh. The claimed ranges from these battery packs is 126km, and 162km, respectively. It is still offered with the same 6.5 kW motor with the same performance levels as before and can reach a claimed top speed of 90 kmph.
What We Think Of The Ather 450X Overtones
We think that this is a nice addition to the Ather 450X’s variant lineup. The 450X, which is already a very solid product from the brand, with these colour schemes has got a good overhaul. All of these colour look quite appealing, and we think this is what the scooter needed for a long time to match its sporty character. Also, the addition of a faster charger has made it quite convenient, with 30% faster charging speed, which would translate to around 30-45 mins saved when plugged in.
