TVS Motor Company has announced Android Auto integration for the iQube electric scooter at the EICMA 2026 motor show in Milan. Revealed during the brand’s European portfolio presentation, the update developed in partnership with Google brings direct smartphone projection to the scooter’s 7-inch touchscreen display. By moving this feature from the low volume TVS X flagship down to its bestseller, TVS is bringing car style navigation and app access to a mass market family scooter.
How Android Auto Works on the 7-Inch Display
Currently, top-spec TVS iQube ST variants come equipped with a 7-inch colour TFT touchscreen running the proprietary SmartXonnect system, while lower trims use smaller 5-inch displays. The EICMA 2026 showcase confirms that the 7-inch screen will support the same Android Auto interface used in passenger cars.
Rather than covering the entire display, Android Auto runs inside the main window while keeping vital scooter readouts visible around the edges. Riders can still monitor the speedometer, battery state of charge, range computer, trip meter, clock, and warning indicators at a glance. Once an Android phone is connected, riders can use full Google Maps navigation and access other apps from their phone directly instead of using proprietary apps to get things done.
From the TVS X to the Mass Market iQube Lineup
TVS first partnered with Google to showcase wireless Android Auto on the 10.2-inch screen of the flagship TVS X. At EICMA 2026, the company confirmed that the European spec TVS X will also feature the system alongside global electric models like the TVS M1-S and TVS Orbiter.
Having recently crossed the 10 lakh sales mark, the TVS iQube is the volume pillar of TVS Motor’s electric portfolio in India. The lineup spans battery options from 2.3 kWh, 3.1 kWh, and 3.5 kWh up to the 4.7 kWh TVS iQube S and the 5.3 kWh iQube ST, which delivers a claimed IDC range of 212 kilometres and a top speed of 82 kilometres per hour.
India Rollout Status
TVS has not yet announced when the Android Auto update will go live in India. It also remains unconfirmed whether existing iQube ST owners with the 7-inch touchscreen will get the feature through an over-the-air software update or if it will be limited to newly manufactured scooters.
What SearchEV Thinks
In-house scooter navigation apps rarely match the speed and accuracy of standard Google Maps. Adding native Android Auto to the 7-inch screen on the TVS iQube fixes that daily annoyance and saves riders from buying shaky handlebar phone mounts. While Ather Energy already runs Google Maps on its touchscreen scooters, full Android Auto projection gives TVS a familiar, phone-mirrored edge. If TVS rolls this feature out to Indian iQube ST buyers soon and unlocks it for existing 7-inch display owners via a software update, it will strengthen its hold at the top of India’s family electric scooter chart.
