VinFast India now lists the VF MPV 7 at Rs 20.39 lakh ex-showroom, a reduction of Rs 4.10 lakh. That’s a 17% reduction in its launch price of Rs 24.49 lakh when compared to its cost when it first went on sale in India. The lower price puts it closer to the Kia Carens Clavis EV, which still starts at a lower price.
VinFast’s Festive Benefit Could Take The Price Below Rs 20 Lakh
The VinFast VF MPV 7 now starts at Rs 20.39 lakh, as per VinFast’s official OEM website. The brand has also separately advertised an Rs 40,780 festive benefit. If the full amount is applied against the listed price, the effective figure works out to Rs 19,98,220 before on-road charges. We advise you to check with the dealer to show the benefit separately on a written quote, along with any eligibility conditions and the date the quote expires.
What Does Rs 20.39 Lakh Get You?
The VF MPV 7 is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery with a 517 km ARAI-certified range. A front-mounted motor puts out 150 kW (204 PS) and 280 Nm. VinFast claims a 10–70% DC charging time of 30 minutes, which is quite useful when planning a highway stop, though how far you can go between stops will depend on your speed, passenger load and the conditions.
As we noted in our VinFast VF MPV 7 first review, the cabin has a sliding second row. The third row also gets its own AC controls, a useful touch on long drives with a full cabin. The trade-off is the luggage room. The boot holds 126 litres with all seven seats in use, so it’s worth checking whether your family’s bags fit before buying.
VinFast announced a 7-year vehicle warranty, a 10-year battery warranty and 3 years of free maintenance at launch. The value of that package also depends on where you live. If the VinFast is on your shortlist, check how far you’d have to travel for a service and ask what the maintenance package covers.
How It Stacks Up Against Kia And BYD
The Kia Carens Clavis EV starts at Rs 18.04 lakh ex-showroom with a 42 kWh battery. The base Kia is about Rs 2.35 lakh cheaper, a sizeable gap if you mostly drive in town and can charge the car at home. Its extended-range variants get a 51.4 kWh pack with a certified range of up to 490 km, making them a closer comparison for buyers who plan on taking longer trips. The BYD eMax 7 Comfort starts at Rs 27.90 lakh with six seats, and a seven-seat version is also available.
SearchEV’s Take
With the latest price cut, at Rs 20.39 lakh, the VinFast is easier to shortlist if you regularly use all three rows and want a larger battery with more than enough range. The most useful test is to take the family along, try the third row and see how much boot space is left. That will tell you more about how the MPV fits your life than the 517 km range figure alone.
