On-road prices vary widely, because states treat expensive EVs differently. For example, cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad add only a small amount over ex-showroom. However, Bengaluru charges 10% registration on EVs above Rs 25 lakh, and Delhi prices also run higher. So, buying in the right city could save you around Rs 8 lakh.
Price Change Since Launch
MG launched the Cyberster in India in July 2025 at Rs 74.99 lakh. Since then, the price has climbed to Rs 82.50 lakh, an increase of about Rs 7.5 lakh. Later, in August 2026, MG added the Couture Edition at Rs 87.49 lakh. Even after the price rise, it still costs far less than most petrol sports cars with similar pace, many of which sell for over Rs 1 crore.
Is the Couture Edition Worth Rs 4.99 Lakh More?
The Couture Edition adds a bespoke white design by fashion designer Gaurav Gupta, with his Serpent Infinity motif. However, it offers no extra power, range or features. Therefore, the Rs 4.99 lakh premium pays only for design and rarity, since MG is building just 50 units. For most buyers, the Cyberster GT offers better value.
Running and Ownership Costs
Charging the Cyberster at home costs roughly Rs 1.5 per km, depending on your electricity tariff. That’s far lower than a petrol sports car, which could cost several times more per km. On the other hand, some costs run higher than a regular EV. For instance, its staggered 20-inch performance tyres wear faster and cost more to replace. Insurance for a car in this price bracket will also be expensive. Still, EVs need less routine servicing, which helps balance the overall cost.
