MG Cyberster Couture Edition

The Gaurav Gupta Collaboration

MG partnered with Gaurav Gupta, an internationally known Indian couturier famous for his sculptural designs. The partnership began earlier this year, when MG displayed a one-off Cyberster at the launch of his menswear store in New Delhi. Later, that idea grew into a limited production run. As a result, the Couture Edition brings Gupta’s runway design language onto the road.

What Makes the Couture Edition Special

The design centres on Gupta’s “Serpent Infinity” motif, which represents continuity, transformation and power. First, flowing serpent graphics wrap around the white body. Next, the subtle bonnet bulge houses two serpent figurines, giving the car a sculpted, one-of-a-kind look. In addition, hand embroidery, tonal layering and hand-finished details add a couture touch. Together, these elements make every unit feel like a piece of wearable art on wheels.

Same Cyberster Underneath

Mechanically, the Couture Edition matches the regular Cyberster GT. It uses the same 77 kWh battery and dual-motor AWD setup, producing 503 bhp and 725 Nm. Likewise, it keeps the electric scissor doors, electric soft-top, 8-speaker Bose audio and Level 2 ADAS. So, you don’t give up any performance or features by choosing the special edition.

Is the Rs 4.99 Lakh Premium Worth It?

The Couture Edition costs Rs 4.99 lakh more than the standard Cyberster GT. Since it adds no extra performance, that premium pays purely for design and rarity. For collectors, though, a 50-unit run could mean stronger long-term value and real bragging rights. On the other hand, if you simply want the Cyberster’s speed and style, the Cyberster GT gives you the same experience for less.

Availability and Booking

MG sells the Couture Edition only through its premium MG Select channel. Pre-reservations opened in July 2026, MG announced prices on 3 August 2026, and deliveries began from 10 August 2026. What's good

• Incredible Visual Drama: Scissor doors and a low-slung body make it look like a multi-crore supercar.
• Relentless Performance: 0-100 in 3.2 seconds provides a thrill that never gets old.
• Practicality (for a Roadster): A 250-litre boot and comfortable ride make it a viable grand tourer.

What's not so good

• Ergonomic Flaws: The steering wheel blocks the screens, and internal storage is almost non-existent.
• Digital Soul: It’s blindingly fast but lacks the mechanical noise and “theatre” of a petrol sports car.
• Weight: At 2,000kg, you can feel the mass when trying to drive very aggressively through tight corners.
