On-Road Price Across States
On-road prices vary widely across India. In states that fully waive road tax on EVs, such as Rajasthan, the EQS 580 costs only a few lakh rupees over its ex-showroom price. In contrast, Bengaluru buyers pay much more. Insurance for a car this expensive also adds several lakh rupees everywhere, so ask your dealer for a detailed quote.
What the Price Includes
Every EQS 580 comes with the 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, massaging front seats, a Burmester 3D sound system and rear entertainment screens. It also gets AIRMATIC air suspension, rear-axle steering and 9 airbags. On top of that, Mercedes includes a 22 kW wallbox at no extra cost. Surprisingly, the cheaper Celebration Edition adds executive rear seats with a 38-degree recline and a Chauffeur package, but Mercedes built only 50 units. Local assembly at Chakan also helps keep prices well below imported rivals.
EQS 580 Running Cost and Warranty
With home charging, the EQS 580 costs roughly Rs 1.2 to Rs 1.6 per km to run. That’s far cheaper than a petrol luxury sedan of similar size. Furthermore, Mercedes covers the battery for 8 years or 1.6 lakh km.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 Price vs Rivals
| Model | Ex-showroom price | Claimed range |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 | Rs 1.30 to 1.48 crore | 857 km (ARAI) |
| BMW i7 | Rs 1.95 to 2.65 crore | Up to 728 km (WLTP) |
| BMW i5 M60 xDrive | Rs 1.19 crore | 516 km (WLTP) |
| Kia EV9 | Rs 1.30 crore | 561 km (ARAI) |
The EQS 580 costs far less than the BMW i7, its closest luxury rival, while offering more claimed range. Meanwhile, the BMW i5 M60 is cheaper and sportier, but smaller and with much less range. Therefore, the EQS 580 offers strong value in the flagship electric sedan segment.
