EQS 580 Ride and Handling
The EQS 580 glides over most roads on AIRMATIC air suspension with adaptive dampers. Better still, it can raise the body by 25 mm at speeds up to 40 km/h, which helps over tall speed breakers. Meanwhile, rear-axle steering makes this 5.2-metre sedan surprisingly easy to turn in tight spaces. Its 523 bhp also delivers effortless, near-silent overtakes.

The 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen houses three OLED displays, including a 12.3-inch passenger screen. Up front, multicontour seats offer massage, ventilation and heating. Rear passengers get two 11.6-inch screens, an MBUX rear tablet and electrically adjustable, heated seats. Moreover, a Burmester 3D sound system, four-zone climate control and a HEPA filter complete the cabin.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The EQS 580 gets 9 airbags, including a knee airbag and rear side airbags. Its PRE-SAFE system prepares occupants for a potential collision. On the move, the Driving Assistance Package Plus brings DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist and Evasive Manoeuvre Support. A 360-degree camera and Remote Parking also help in tight spots.
What It Misses vs the Celebration Edition
Compared with the Celebration Edition, the regular EQS 580 skips the executive rear seats with 38-degree recline and lumbar massage. It also lacks the Chauffeur package, AR navigation and designer seatbelt buckles. Interestingly, the Celebration Edition costs about Rs 18 lakh less, though Mercedes built it in limited numbers.
