Ather has confirmed the launch of its new electric family scooter in India on August 29, 2026. The new family scooter will most likely be the much-awaited Ather EL-01, which is based on the EL platform, unveiled at the Ather Community Day 2025. This event, scheduled to happen in Bengaluru, is called ‘A New Dawn Of Magic’.
What is the EL Platform?
Unlike the existing 450 platform, which underpins the Ather 450 range, and the Ather Rizta, this new platform is mass-market focused and built for scalability rather than premium products. It is also expected to spawn a few other electric scooters, with different body styles and battery packs ranging from 2 kWH to 5 kWh.
More Details About The Upcoming Ather Electric Scooter
The new Ather family scooter is expected to be a mass-market product, with the brand deviating from its premium image. It is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom), sitting just below the Ather Rizta in the brand’s lineup. In its price bracket, the new Ather scooter will rival the TVS iQube, the Bajaj Chetak, the Hero Vida VX2 range and the Ola S1 range.
More Than Just A Scooter Launch
Apart from the scooter, the brand has also confirmed that it will unveil new developments across its software, new features, more advanced charging equipment, and connected ownership improvements.
