Introduction
Following its recent strategic brand debut, Ahmedabad-based EV startup Avore Electric is finally preparing to show the market what it has been building behind closed doors. Through a recent teaser video on Instagram, the company announced that a “first glimpse” of its maiden electric motorcycle will drop on June 19. Apart from this, a test mule of the Avore Electric bike was spotted on Indian roads, which suggests that the company is definitely testing the bike rigorously for Indian roads.
The Build-Up to June 19: Keeping the Mystery Alive
Avore Electric has thus far made waves not with flashy renders or exaggerated performance claims, but with a firm, documented focus on core engineering. The recent social media teaser states a “first glimpse is arriving on June 19, leaving room for speculation regarding the scope of the reveal. It remains to be seen whether the company will drop a silhouette, a close-up of its proprietary componentry, or a full-scale design reveal. However, given its core philosophy of “Intelligence Beyond Motion”, industry insiders expect the glimpse to heavily highlight the motorcycle’s structural and technological framework rather than just its cosmetic appeal.
A Foundation of Deep In-House Engineering
What makes this upcoming product reveal genuinely significant is the sheer volume of foundational groundwork Avore Electric has completed prior to showing a vehicle. Over a rigorous three-year development cycle involving more than 100 engineers at its Gujarat-based R&D facility, the company claims to have internally developed nine critical vehicle subsystems.
Instead of relying on off-the-shelf, outsourced components, which has been a common shortcut for many early-stage EV startups, Avore has engineered its own patented Battery Management System (BMS), battery pack, electric motor, motor controller, and onboard fast charger from the ground up. This highly vertically integrated hardware ecosystem is anchored by the company’s proprietary technology stack, AVORE Source, and its purpose-built AVR vehicle platform. Armed with over 110 intellectual property filings, Avore is positioning itself as a deep-tech company that builds motorcycles.
Targeting the Core of Indian Motorcycling
Once the Avore bike is out, there’s little doubt that it will find itself settling as an alternative to arguably one of the most challenging segments in India’s market – the 125cc to 200cc commuter and lifestyle segments. It takes a very special product to be able to strike the perfect blend between power, reliability, and affordability. The platform has been developed taking into consideration the harsh operating environments in which Indian motorcycles have to operate. Thus, Avore Electric wants to provide an uncompromising option for people used to conventional internal combustion engine-powered motorcycles.
What We Think
With the majority of electric two-wheelers launched in India being scooters, the mass-market performance-oriented motorcycle niche has been largely left unattended until now. So, this could be a golden opportunity for the brand to capture a decent chunck of the Indian electric bike market.
