Tesla has started delivering the newly launched Model Y L in India. The electric SUV is the newest addition to the brand’s Indian catalogue and is aimed at buyers looking for a premium family-focused electric car. Despite being a family-focused electric SUV designed for utility, it gets quite frantic performance from its premium hardware.
Also, the other important fact is that these vehicles are being delivered by the brand to customers through a D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) model, which streamlines the delivery process, all while offering better after-sales and service support. As of now, the brand is only available in four metropolitan cities: Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurugram, and New Delhi.
Latest Price
As of now, Tesla sells only two models in India: the Model Y Premium and the Model Y L. Here is the latest price list of the Tesla electric cars in India:

Apart from the base colour, both of these models are offered with a bunch of more premium colour schemes where you have to pay extra depending on what paint you choose. This could cost you Rs 95,000 to Rs 1,85,000 depending on the chosen shade. And, if you opt in for Tesla’s self-driving function, you’ll have to pay Rs 6,00,000 extra. But do note that the function is not yet available in India and will be unlocked only when it is available in the future updates.
Finance Schemes
To make the ownership experience accessible, Tesla is also offering finance schemes with the car. When purchasing the Tesla electric car, the minimum down payment to be done is Rs 6.5 lakh, and the EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) starts at Rs 49,990.
According to the brand, the financing programme has been structured to be tailored to eliminate the biggest barrier when buying an EV – high upfront costs.
Model Y Premium RWD Deliveries From July 2026
Alongside the new six-seater electric car, Tesla also launched the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive in India. It costs Rs 50.89 lakh and replaces the earlier Long Range RWD version of the Tesla Model Y.
Deliveries of the Model Y Premium RWD are scheduled to begin in July 2026. For this model as well, Tesla is offering attractive financing schemes, EMIs starting from Rs 39,990 and down payments beginning at Rs 6 lakh.
Service Network Expansion Underway
The company currently operates service centres and body shops in Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi and Pune. New facilities are expected to open this quarter in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad. So, this expansion will address one of the biggest concerns among prospective Tesla buyers in India: after-sales support and service accessibility.
