India’s electric two-wheeler sales picked up in January. Volumes rose to 1,12,881 units, from 94,209 units in December, a jump of almost 20 per cent. The top brands stayed competitive, with most leaders seeing gains. A few players, however, saw slower sales or small dips compared to the previous month.
TVS, Bajaj and Ather Drive January Momentum
TVS iQube topped the sales chart in January, selling 32,960 units. That’s a big jump from 24,901 units in December and enough to push TVS ahead of the rest of the pack. Bajaj Auto climbed to second place after selling 23,266 units in January, up from 18,152 units the month before. The rise shows a stronger demand for Bajaj’s electric scooters. Ather Energy held on to third spot with 20,029 units, compared to 16,636 units in December. Sales continued to grow at a steady pace.
Hero Vida remained fourth, selling 12,347 units, up from 10,508 units in December. Ola Electric, however, had a slower month. Sales dropped to 7,065 units, down from 8,615 units in December, leaving it in fifth place.
Greaves, River, and BGauss Inch Up
Greaves Electric sold 4,827 units, slightly higher than 4,508 units in December. River Mobility and BGauss also posted small gains, keeping their positions in the middle of the table. River Mobility recorded one of the sharpest jumps in the mid-table, selling 2,460 units compared to 1,818 units in December, a rise of over 35 per cent. Bgauss remained eighth, with 2,150 units, slightly higher than 2,075 units a month earlier.
E-Sprinto and Pure Energy Split
E-Sprinto Green Energy stood ninth with 1,486 units sold in January, recording strong growth compared to earlier periods. Pure Energy ranked tenth, selling 622 units. While volumes were much higher than December’s 10 units, January sales were slightly lower than the previous reference period.
Year-on-Year Growth Improves
Total EV two-wheeler sales up to January 2026 stand at 1,12,881 units, compared with 94,998 units during the same period last year. That works out to nearly 19 per cent year-on-year growth, showing that overall demand is still moving up despite normal monthly ups and downs.
January’s numbers point to a market that’s picking up pace. TVS, Bajaj, and Ather led the way, and while a few brands saw short-term dips, the overall trend for electric two-wheelers remains positive as 2026 begins.
