Introduction
Skoda Auto has released the first set of exterior design sketches for its flagship electric SUV, the Skoda Peaq. The global world premiere for the Skoda Peaq is scheduled for June 23, 2026 in Monnetier-Mornex, France. This full-size electric SUV draws a lot from the radical Vision 7S concept, introducing an entirely new design philosophy while sitting at the absolute pinnacle of the brand’s global portfolio in terms of size, luxury, and technological capability.
A Bold New Direction in Design
The released design sketches confirm that the production-spec Peaq will stay remarkably true to its conceptual roots. It completely does away with the traditional Skoda grille, replacing it with a glossy black, closed-off “Tech-Deck Face”. This front fascia is flanked by slim, T-shaped LED lighting elements that are seamlessly connected by a horizontal illuminated bar, giving the SUV a highly futuristic signature.
In profile, the vehicle’s attention is built by a high shoulder line, robust D-pillars, flush-fitting door handles, large alloy wheels (up to 21 inches), and a gently sloping roofline that terminates in a prominent rear spoiler. The rear design mirrors the front’s visual identity, utilising T-shaped taillamps linked by a distinct loop motif.
Dimensions and Practicality
Living up to its name, the Peaq is designed to be the peak of Skoda’s lineup in sheer dimensions. It measures 4,874 mm in length with a massive 2,965 mm wheelbase, making it substantially larger than both the Enyaq and the current-generation Kodiaq. This footprint allows Skoda to offer the vehicle in highly spacious five-seat and three-row seven-seat layouts.
For buyers prioritising cargo space, the five-seat configuration offers a cavernous boot capacity of up to 1,010 litres, complemented by a convenient 37-litre front trunk (frunk) for storing charging cables.
Battery, Range, and Performance
The Peaq will be based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric platform, and will be available in three primary variants: the 60, the 90, and the dual-motor 90x.
The entry-level Peaq 60 will utilise a 63 kWh battery pack paired with a rear-mounted 204 horsepower (150 kW) motor, delivering a claimed range of over 460 kilometres. The higher-spec 90 and 90x models step up to a larger 91 kWh battery, breaching the 600 km driving range mark.
Performance-wise, the flagship 90x AWD variant will produce up to 299 horsepower (220 kW), capable enough to do a 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 6.7 seconds. Crucially, all battery configurations are engineered for rapid top-ups, achieving a 10 to 80% charge in under 28 minutes via DC fast charging.
