Tata Motors launched the updated Tata Tiago EV in India. It now gets a more futuristic-looking design, updated styling, new cabin features and additional upgrades, while continuing with the same battery pack options (19.2 kWh and 24 kWh). Its prices now start at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in three variants: Smart, Pure+, and Creative+. Here’s a table with the variant-wise price of the new 2026 Tata Tiago EV:
| Battery Pack Option | Smart | Pure+ | Creative+ |
| 19.2 kWh | Rs 6.99 lakh | Rs 8.49 lakh | – |
| 24 kWh | – | Rs 9.49 lakh | Rs 9.99 lakh |
*(all prices are effective ex-showroom Delhi).
Apart from this, the new Tiago EV is also available with the Baas (Battery As A Service) model, where its prices start at Rs 4.69 lakh for the 19.2 kWh Smart variant. In this scheme, the battery EMI is calculated at Rs 2.6 per km of usage. Do note that this is calculated considering a daily run of 44 km, and also excludes the charging cost, to be borne by the customers separately.
A Fresh New Identity
The updated Tiago EV gets new LED headlamps, redesigned bumpers and a much cleaner-looking front-end, with futuristic styling elements inspired by the bigger Tata EVs. The new Tiago EV also gets black accents and a refreshed grille section to give the hatchback a more modern appearance. But, in our opinion, the grill looks a bit too odd and doesn’t really go with the overall stance of the car.
New alloy wheel design and the fresh new colour options do help distinguish the facelifted model from the outgoing version, but the overall silhouette remains largely unchanged. We think that these changes are not just cosmetic and will help the car improve efficiency, all while looking noticeably fresher.
The 2026 Tiago EV is now offered in six colour schemes: Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Grey and Pristine White.
Battery Packs And Claimed Range Remain Unchanged
Mechanically, the new Tata Tiago EV continues with the same two battery pack options — a 19.2 kWh unit and a larger 24 kWh pack. The 19.2 kWh variant produces 45 kW (61 PS) of peak power and 110 Nm of peak torque, while the larger battery variant develops 55 kW (75 PS) and 114 Nm.
Tata claims a MIDC-certified (Modified Indian Driving Cycle) range of up to 226 km for the 19.2 kWh battery variant and up to 285 km for the larger 24 kWh one. DC fast charging support has been improved, and the electric hatchback now juices up 100 km worth of range in just 18 minutes with a 30 kW DC fast charger. The claimed 10-80% charging time is around 35 minutes. Apart from this, the new Tata electric car is offered with a 7.2 kW wall-mounted AC charger and a portable 3.3 kWh AC charger that can be plugged into any common household socket for convenience.
With the Tata Tiago, the brand now offers a lifetime, unlimited kilometres warranty on the 24 kWh variant. But the base 19.2 kWh battery pack variant still comes with an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty. The important thing to note is that the unlimited warranty is only available for the first registered owner.
Bigger Screens, More tech

Inside the cabin, the 2026 Tiago EV comes equipped with the same two-spoke steering wheel as before, but with an illuminated Tata logo now. It also gets a redesigned dashboard layout, with a larger floating touchscreen infotainment system which comes with a long list of connected features. The list includes features like automatic climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a cooled glovebox, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, auto-folding ORVMs, and a new rotary drive selector.
Apart from this, the new Tata Tiago EV also comes with a new 360 degree camera with 2D and 3D views for better convenience. It also gets a TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), which helps in keeping the driver updated on the recommended pressures, alerting the driver of unfortunate punctures.
Apart from this, the car also comes with rain-sensing wipers, Automatic, and follow-me-home headlamps, which stay on for some duration, even after you turn off the car. It also comes with 4 levels of regenerative braking, and two driving modes: City, and Sport.
Much Safer Than Before

It also gets a bunch of riding aids like cruise control, hill-hold control, and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with traction control. To make the drives safer, it also comes with torque vectoring by braking, assisted by ABS (Anti-lock braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution).
One of the main highlights of the new Tiago is that it ditches the dual-airbag setup from before and now is equipped with six airbags as standard, which makes it one of the safest budget electric cars in India.
What We Think
This 2026 Tiago EV update may not bring major mechanical changes, but Tata has addressed one of the biggest complaints about the older model — its ageing design and outdated cabin layout. With the new sharper styling, more advanced tech and aggressive pricing, the Tiago EV is now very likely to remain one of the most popular budget electric vehicles in India, and will rival cars like the MG Comet EV, and the Citroen eC3. It will also be a very strong rival to the Tata Punch EV, and the Tata Tigor EV.
