MG has slotted the Hector Tomahawk EV above the regular Hector, aiming at buyers who want three-row seating in an electric vehicle without moving up to something like the XEV 9S or the Carens Clavis EV on the basis of looks alone. Unlike a lot of its rivals, MG has not bothered with multiple battery sizes or motor outputs here. Every version of the Hector Tomahawk EV, from the base Excite to the range topping Essence, runs the identical 69.2 kWh pack and the same 204 hp motor, so performance and range stay fixed no matter which trim a buyer settles on.

Exterior
The Hector Tomahawk EV carries a fairly upright, boxy stance for an electric SUV, with a blanked off front section replacing the traditional grille.
- Lighting: LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, and LED daytime running lights are standard from the base Excite trim itself, along with an illuminated MG logo positioned between the two headlamp clusters.
- Wheels: 18-inch alloy wheels come as standard across the entire range, with MG referring to the dual tone, precision cut design as Rotor Alloys. There is no step up in wheel size on higher trims.
- Brightwork and Details: Exclusive trim adds chrome finishing on select exterior elements along with automatic headlamps, while the top Essence variant is the only one to get red painted brake callipers.
- Tailgate: A manually operated tailgate is standard on Excite, while Exclusive and Essence both get a powered tailgate that opens and closes at the press of a button.
- Colours: Eight exterior shades are on offer, including Khaki Green, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Celadon Blue, Pearl White, and Shadow Gold, with two of these also sold as dual tone options finished with a Starry Black roof.

Cabin space is meant to be the Hector Tomahawk EV’s strongest card, helped along by its 2,810 mm wheelbase, one of the longer ones in this price bracket.
- Upholstery: Leatherette seat covering is standard across the range, with MG using an Almond Brown and Carbon Black colour scheme it calls Desert Squadron.
- Seat Comfort: Front seats are power adjustable from the base trim, but ventilation is only added from Exclusive onwards. The Memory function for the driver’s seat, along with an auto-retract feature that eases entry and exit, is limited to the top Essence trim alone.
- Sunroof and Lighting: A panoramic sunroof arrives with the Exclusive trim. Ambient lighting starts as a single blue tone on Exclusive and only expands to a 256-colour setup once a buyer steps up to Essence.
- Rear Seat Flexibility: All variants get a 60:40 split, reclining second row, with a slide function added for the seven-seat body. The seven-seater’s third row uses a 50:50 split as well, and both rows get their own AC vents from the base trim.
- Practical Additions: Auto dimming rear view mirror, rear window sunshade, and a rear parcel tray, the last of these limited to the five seat body, are all reserved for the Essence trim, while items like the front armrest, height adjustable headrests, and front and rear defoggers are already present on the base Excite.
Infotainment & Connectivity
The dashboard layout actually changes across the range rather than staying identical.
- Displays: Excite and Exclusive both use a 12.8-inch touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch driver display. Essence swaps the central screen for a larger 15.6-inch unit that MG brands as the Grand View display, while the driver display size carries over unchanged.
- Audio: A six-speaker setup is standard through Excite and Exclusive, with Essence alone getting a 10-speaker Infinity system.
- Software and Voice: Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a generative AI-powered voice assistant, and over-the-air software updates are included from the base Excite trim. MG’s broader i-Smart suite layers on more than 80 connected features across the range, covering things like remote lock and unlock, geofencing, and app-based scheduling for the climate control.
- Charging and Power Tools: A 50W wireless charger with active cooling is added from Exclusive. Vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle support, along with vehicle-to-home charging, are exclusive to the Essence trim. MG describes V2H as a first for any car sold in India.
Safety
Safety equipment is where the jump between trims becomes most noticeable, with MG holding back its full driver assistance suite for the top variant.
- Standard Across the Range: Six airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control, Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, all four disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and a reverse parking camera are all fitted from the base Excite trim.
