Tata Motors launched the Sierra EV in India, with prices starting at Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sierra EV carries one of Tata’s most iconic nameplates but is now reborn as a premium electric SUV.

It is built on Tata’s latest Acti.ev+ platform and sits between the Tata Curvv EV, and the Tata Harrier EV in the brand’s lineup. The Sierra EV is also available with multiple battery packs, single and dual-motor variants, and different feature suites. Battery, Range and Powertrain

The Tata Sierra is offered with 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, with the brand offering a lifetime warranty on them. The entry-level variants are equipped with a single-motor rear-wheel drive powertrain, while the higher-spec ones come with a dual-motor, QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) setup, which is Tata’s All Wheel Drive system with 6 terrain modes. Apart from this, the Tata Sierra EV also supports fast charging up to 120 kW with a DC fast charger, which makes it a lot more convenient, as it can add 250 km worth of range in just 15 minutes. The Tata Sierra EV can also be charged via three options: a 3.3 kW portable charger, a 7.2 kW wall-mounted home charger, and it also supports 120 kW DC fast charging. Also, note that the 7.2 kW charger will cost you Rs 49,000 extra.

Tata Sierra EV Design

The most attractive thing about the Sierra EV is its design. It is inspired by the legendary Tata Sierra from the 90s, which had a connected rear glass panel, like nothing on the market at that time. The design is similar and has evolved, but with the same philosophy. The new Sierra EV also gets the massive connected roof and the rear quarter-glass panel.

The front end of this new Tata electric SUV has a closed-off grille, a connected DRL LED lighting setup (both headlamps and tail lamps), and even flush-fit door handles for that premium touch. For its tall SUV stance, it rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamics tweaks for more efficiency.

The Tata Sierra EV is offered in seven colours: Rishikesh Rapids, Nainital Nocturne, Pristine White, Andaman Adventure, Coorg Cloud, Pure Grey, and Bengal Rouge. It is not only modern, futuristic, and advanced on the outside but also on the inside. The cabin is quite spacious and gets all the bells and whistles expected from a premium Tata car.

Tata Sierra EV Features: Convenience And Safety

Just like other Tata Motors electric cars, the Tata Sierra EV is quite feature-packed and comes with a triple-screen dashboard (a 10-inch instrument console and two 12.5 inch infotainment screens), a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an optional JBL audio system, an onboard air purifier, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, a wireless charger, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capability. It also gets an advanced park assist and a summon mode that lets you get the car out of tight parking spots. 

While it’s quite a convenient car, the safety features on offer are also of utmost importance, and Tata has not compromised on those as well. The 2026 Tata Sierra EV comes with a level 2+ ADAS suite, six airbags, a 540-degree camera, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), front and rear parking sensors, a blind spot monitor, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and disc brakes on all four wheels. It also gets preventive measures like Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Rear Collision Warning, which makes it one of the safest cars in its segment. 

Bookings And Deliveries

The bookings of the Tata Sierra EV are open now, both online and through authorised dealerships, with deliveries slated to start on July 15, 2026.

What We Think About The Tata Sierra EV

The Sierra EV is arguably Tata Motors’ most significant electric vehicle launch since the Nexon EV. With prices starting at Rs 18.79 lakh, it takes the fight directly to the Mahindra BE 6, the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Maruti Suzuki eVitara. While the Sierra EV will give fierce competition to other electric vehicle manufacturers, we think it will also cannibalise the sales of the Harrier EV as well as the Curvv EV.
