Tata Punch EV Smart+ 40 Features
This variant brings the long-range battery with all the daily essentials. Inside, you get a 20.32 cm (8-inch) Harman touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, dual 65W USB-C fast charging ports, a remote key, fully automatic climate control and a height-adjustable driver seat. A jewelled drive selector knob gives the cabin a more premium touch.
Outside, you get R16 steel wheels, smart digital DRLs, a shark-fin antenna, ORVMs with side indicators and an electric tailgate release. The Smart+ comes in four colours: Supernova Copper, Bengal Rouge, Pure Grey and Pristine White.
For driving, you get three drive modes: Eco, City and Sport, plus paddle shifters to change the four regen levels on the go. EPB with auto hold keeps the car from rolling at signals and on slopes, which makes stop-and-go traffic easier. The iRA.ev app adds connected car features with smartwatch connectivity.

The Smart+ 40 has a certified range of 468 km. Tata’s own real-world estimate is 335 to 355 km, and actual range depends on speed, traffic, AC use and road conditions. With a 65 kW DC fast charger, it goes from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes, and a 15-minute top-up can add up to 135 km. At home, a 7.2 kW AC wall box charges it from 10 to 100% in about 5 hours 18 minutes. The battery gets a lifetime warranty for the first private owner.
What the Smart+ 40 Does Not Have
The Smart+ 40 does not get push button start, cruise control, hill descent control or electrically adjustable ORVMs. These start from the Adventure. It also misses wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the bigger 26.03 cm touchscreen, a 360-degree camera and alloy wheels, which come in the Empowered.
What the Adventure 40 Adds Over the Smart+ 40
The Adventure 40 has the same battery, motor and range. For Rs 75,000 more, it adds push button start, cruise control, hill descent control and electrically adjustable ORVMs. It also opens up the Caramel colour option.
Who Should Buy the Tata Punch EV Smart+ 40?
This variant suits buyers who want the big 40 kWh battery and 468 km range at the lowest possible price. For just Rs 80,000 more than the Smart+ 30, you get more range, more power and a reverse camera, which makes it the best value Punch EV. It works well for daily commuters who also take occasional highway trips. If you want cruise control, the Adventure 40 is worth a look.
