Hero MotoCorp has taken the wraps off its first full-size electric motorcycle, the Vida UBX 06, at the EICMA 2026 motor show in Milan. Pronounced “yoob eks”, the new model evolves the earlier UBEX concept into a near production street bike that will join Vida’s scooter focused lineup in 2027. Slated for sale in both India and European markets, the UBX 06 combines naked streetfighter proportions with supermoto styling cues to target young urban riders.
Hero Vida UBX 06 Design
Speaking at the Milan unveil, Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Pawan Munjal noted that the UBX 06 has been engineered from the ground up to be agile and zippy, drawing direct inspiration from supermoto motorcycles. The display bike on the EICMA floor wears a sharp red, silver, and black paint scheme with large white VIDA lettering across the tank shrouds.
Up front, a high-mounted red supermoto beak sits directly beneath a single LED projector headlamp. The headlight unit is framed by vertical LED daytime running lights that carry the signature Vida family look. At the same time, the overall silhouette and muscular stance borrow from the petrol-powered Hero Xtreme 250R to some extent as well. The forward biased visual mass, sculpted tank extensions, and lean tail section give the UBX 06 the same athletic streetfighter presence that Indian buyers already recognise from the 250cc Xtreme.
Ergonomics are tailored for quick city filtering. The motorcycle features a wide, upright handlebar fitted with black knuckle guards and angular mirrors. A single piece stepped saddle narrows near the tank and rises toward the pillion seat, flanked by split rear grab rails. Below the seat, silver side panels create a floating tail effect with an open gap above the rear wheel.
Hero Vida UBX 06 Battery, Motor And Range
While Hero MotoCorp kept official power and range figures under wraps during the EICMA presentation, the show bike reveals its mechanical package clearly. Interestingly, when Hero filed a design patent for the Ubex in India in February 2026, the drawings showed conventional telescopic front forks and no front beak. For the EICMA 2026 debut of the UBX 06, however, the company returned to premium hardware, equipping the bike with a gold-finished upside-down front fork, an inclined rear monoshock with an exposed spring, and a silver-coloured swingarm.
The motorcycle rides on red five-spoke alloy wheels shod with road-biased tyres. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, including a front disc paired with a gold calliper, as well as ABS. In the cockpit, a rectangular colour TFT instrument cluster sits behind the front cowl and is expected to pack connected tech, smartphone pairing, over-the-air updates, and turn-by-turn navigation.
A large, centrally mounted fixed battery pack sits inside black and grey frame shrouds, complete with lower cooling fins and a protective belly pan. Power will go to the rear wheel via a mid-mounted electric motor which could output somewhere around 14 kW (20 hp). It could also get riding modes to help manage the power better.
Although official battery specifications have not been announced yet, the physical size of the casing points to an expected fixed battery capacity of around 5 kWh. A pack of that size should deliver a real-world city riding range of roughly 140 to 160 kilometres on a single charge.
Vida NEX 1 and NEX 2 Urban Mobility Concepts

Alongside its push into electric motorcycles, Vida continues to showcase its experimental Novus micro mobility lineup led by the NEX 1 and NEX 2 concepts. The Vida NEX 1 is a portable personal electric vehicle engineered to fold down to the size of a backpack. It is designed for college students and urban commuters who need a lightweight last mile electric ride they can carry indoors or take onto public transit.

Stepping up in size is the Vida NEX 2, an urban-focused, compact, and flexible self-balancing electric trike. The NEX 2 uses an active self-balancing mechanism that keeps the trike upright at low speeds and at traffic lights without the rider putting a foot down. Hero MotoCorp filed an Indian design patent for the NEX 2 in June 2026, indicating that the company is evaluating the trike for future commercial applications.
Hero Vida UBX 06 Price And Launch Timeline
The Vida UBX 06 is expected to hit showrooms in 2027, with sales planned for both Europe and India. In the domestic market, the bike will be sold through Hero Premia outlets and standalone Vida experience centres, sitting above the VX2 and V2 electric scooters and the youth-focused Dirt.E K3 electric dirt bike.
We expect Hero MotoCorp to price the UBX 06 between Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 2.00 lakh ex-showroom in India. That price band would put it at a slight premium over entry-level electric commuters like the Oben Rorr Evo, while comfortably undercutting higher-priced electric streetfighters such as the Raptee T30 HV and the Ultraviolette F77 series.
What SearchEV Thinks
Electric scooters have done all the volume work for Hero MotoCorp’s EV division so far, helping Vida cross 10 per cent market share in India on the strength of the VX2 lineup and its Battery as a Service plans. Entering the electric motorcycle segment with the UBX 06 is the logical next move, especially since the electric street bike space has far fewer established players than the scooter segment. Using supermoto touches, an upside-down fork, and a trellis swingarm, Hero has designed a bike that looks like a proper motorcycle rather than a stretched commuter. If Hero launches the UBX 06 in the Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2.00 lakh bracket in 2027, its nationwide dealership reach will make it an immediate threat to Oben Electric, Revolt Motors, and Matter.
