A Well-Equipped Base Variant
Many base variants feel stripped out, but the Adventure 65 doesn’t. Outside, you get LED bi-projector headlamps, LED tail lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels. Also, a dual-tone paint option gives it a premium look. Inside, two 10.25-inch screens handle infotainment and driver info. In addition, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control and automatic climate control come included. Finally, leatherette seats and 45W USB Type-C ports make daily drives more comfortable.
Tata Harrier EV Adventure 65 Safety
Safety is strong, even at this price. To begin with, you get six airbags, TPMS and traction control. Then, hill hold and hill descent control help on steep roads. Also, an electronic parking brake with auto hold makes stop-and-go traffic easier. On top of that, smart braking aids like brake disc wiping, hydraulic brake assist and brake sway assist add extra control. Better still, the Harrier EV has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.
Driving and Range
The rear motor produces 235 bhp and 315 Nm, which is plenty for city traffic and highway overtakes. As for range, the 65 kWh battery offers a claimed 538 km. In real-world use, Tata claims 420 to 445 km, which covers most weekly driving. On the highway, a DC fast charger takes it from 20 to 80% in about 25 minutes. Also, 205 mm of ground clearance handles bad roads with ease. Finally, the battery gets a lifetime warranty for the first owner.
What the Adventure 65 Misses
To keep the price low, a few features are left out. For example, it doesn’t get a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors or a knee airbag. Also, it misses ventilated seats, a wireless charger and the JBL sound system. Instead, you get a basic 4-speaker, 2-tweeter setup. Similarly, ADAS, the 75 kWh battery and AWD aren’t offered here. Finally, this version doesn’t include a home charger.
Adventure 65 vs Adventure S 65
The Adventure S 65 costs Rs 22.29 lakh, which is just Rs 50,000 more. In return, it upgrades the touchscreen to a bigger 12.3-inch unit. Also, it adds the Arcade.ev app suite. Apart from that, both versions share the same battery, range and safety kit. So, pick the Adventure S only if a larger screen matters to you.
Adventure 65 With or Without Charger?
This version doesn’t include a home charger, which keeps it Rs 50,000 cheaper than the Adventure 65 ACFC. However, if you don’t own a charger yet, the ACFC version adds a 7.2 kW wall box. With it, a full home charge takes about 9.5 hours. On the other hand, if your office or society already has charging, this version saves you money.
Who Should Buy the Tata Harrier EV Adventure 65?
This variant suits buyers who want the Harrier EV’s size, strong safety and good range at the lowest price. It’s a great fit for city families who drive mostly within 400 km a charge. Also, it makes sense if you already have a home charger. However, if you want features like a 360-degree camera or ventilated seats, consider stepping up to the Fearless Plus.
