The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027’s dates have been confirmed, with the expo scheduled for the first week of February 2027. The prestigious exhibition could offer a preview of some very important electric vehicles coming to India. With several manufacturers gearing up to launch new EVs for the Indian market, the event is expected to feature everything from affordable electric SUVs and family-orientated MPVs to premium electric vehicles.
The event will bring together major automotive manufacturers, including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Honda, BMW, BYD, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Skoda, Volkswagen and VinFast. However, while their participation has been listed, individual car and SUV displays are yet to be officially confirmed.
Based on the manufacturers’ upcoming product plans and reported launch timelines, here are eight electric cars that could most possibly be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027.
1. Maruti Suzuki YMC Electric MPV

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming electric MPV, currently known by the YMC codename, could be one of the biggest highlights of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027. The model is expected to become the brand’s second electric vehicle after the e-Vitara and could introduce an entirely new electric vehicle segment for the manufacturer.
According to recent reports, Maruti Suzuki is expected to reveal the YMC at the 2027 event. The electric MPV is likely to feature a three-row seating layout, making it a more family-orientated offering than the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara.

As of now, the manufacturer only has the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in its combined vehicle lineup as an MPV, and it does quite well considering its high sales numbers. And, with the launch of the YMC, buyers will have an option to get the same convenience but with an electric powertrain.
The YMC is expected to use the HEARTECT-e platform, which also underpins the e-Vitara. It could borrow the electric SUV’s battery options, which include 49 kWh and 61 kWh units. However, Maruti Suzuki has not announced the YMC’s battery specifications, power output or driving range. Its larger body and additional seating could also mean a completely different range output compared to the e Vitara. If the reported reveal timeline holds, the YMC could be one of the most important electric vehicles to be showcased at the Expo.
2. Hyundai Ioniq P Electric SUV

Hyundai’s upcoming compact electric SUV, internally known by the HE1i codename, is another strong candidate for the event. Recent reports suggest that the production model could be called the Ioniq P, although Hyundai Motor India has not officially confirmed the final name or its association with the HE1i project.
The electric SUV is expected to sit below the Hyundai Creta Electric in Hyundai’s Indian lineup. It will be a sub-four-metre model designed specifically for the Indian market and is expected to be manufactured at Hyundai’s Sriperumbudur facility in Tamil Nadu.

The Ioniq P is expected to use the E-GMP (K) platform, which is also used by the global Hyundai Inster. Hyundai has confirmed that the model will get Level 2 ADAS and a next-generation infotainment system. The manufacturer is also expected to offer standard-range and long-range versions.
3. Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV

Honda’s 0 Alpha electric SUV could be another important addition to the event. The model was first showcased as a prototype in 2025 and is expected to enter production in 2027, with India and Japan among its primary markets as per early reports.
But, from the recent developments, we now know that the Honda 0 Alpha will be launched in December 2026, and the manufacturer has not yet disclosed its battery capacity, motor configuration, power output or driving range yet. Details about its final design and equipment are also awaited. The SUV will be manufactured in India.
The 0 Alpha will be Honda’s first electric SUV for India, and a prototype has already been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times, suggesting it is in active development for the local market.
4. Mahindra BE.07 Production-Spec Electric SUV

Mahindra could use the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027 to showcase the production version of its BE.07 electric SUV. The manufacturer has confirmed that its next electric vehicle will arrive in 2027 and will be based on the BE.07 concept. The production model is internally referred to as B07, and has been spotted testing on Indian roads across the country.
The BE.07 is expected to be a five-seat electric SUV measuring approximately 4.6 metres in length. It will likely sit above the BE 6 in Mahindra’s electric vehicle lineup and could target buyers looking for a larger, more practical electric SUV. The production version is expected to use Mahindra’s INGLO electric vehicle platform, and will come with a triple-screen dashboard. Battery options in the region of 60 kWh to 80 kWh have been discussed in reports, but the final specifications remain unconfirmed. It could compete with electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7.

Since Mahindra has confirmed a 2027 arrival for the model, a production-spec showcase at the Expo is a possibility. However, the company has not announced a specific unveiling date or confirmed its participation with the BE.07 at the event.
5. Tata Avinya-Based Electric SUV

Tata Motors could also bring its first production vehicle based on the Avinya concept to the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027. The Avinya was originally showcased as a vision for the brand’s next generation of premium electric vehicles.
Unlike Tata’s existing EVs, the Avinya family is expected to use the new Chery-JLR Freelander platform over the EMA architecture. The platform has been developed as a dedicated EV architecture and is intended to offer a spacious cabin, modern technology and a more premium experience.
The Avinya EV range will most likely enter the market by 2027, with the first production model potentially arriving in the second half of the next financial year. So, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo is an opportunity for the manufacturer to offer an early look at the vehicle.
Battery capacity, motor specifications, driving range and pricing are also yet to be announced. If the production timeline remains unchanged, the Expo could provide the first major public showcase of Tata’s next-generation premium EV.
6. JSW Motors Jaecoo J5 Electric SUV

JSW Motors could show an interesting new electric SUV to the Indian market with a locally assembled version of the Jaecoo J5 EV. The brand is reportedly considering the all-electric version of the SUV for India, with a potential launch sometime in 2027.
The Jaecoo J5 is part of the international Chery lineup. Its global electric version uses a 60.9 kWh battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor producing 210 hp and 288 Nm. It has a claimed NEDC range of 461 km in international specifications. These figures, however, should not be treated as confirmed specifications for an Indian version. JSW Motors has not announced the India-spec powertrain, battery capacity or driving range.
The local assembly of the SUV is being planned at its facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. If the India launch timeline holds, the J5 EV could be among the new electric SUVs worth waiting for at the Expo.
7. BMW iX3 Long-Wheelbase

The BMW iX3 long-wheelbase could be one of the premium electric SUVs to watch at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027. The new-generation iX3 is the first production model based on BMW’s Neue Klasse architecture. India is expected to receive a long-wheelbase version of the electric SUV in 2027.
Compared to the standard model, the India-bound version is expected to feature a wheelbase extended by 108 mm, potentially offering more rear-seat space. The new iX3 is expected to feature BMW’s latest electric vehicle technology, including an updated cabin layout and next-generation digital interfaces. A dual-motor configuration is also a possibility, although final India-spec powertrain details have not been announced.
BMW is among the manufacturers listed for the passenger vehicle exhibition. With the long-wheelbase iX3 expected to arrive in India in 2027, the Expo could provide an opportunity for the brand to showcase its next-generation electric SUV to Indian audience.
8. VinFast VF5 Facelift

The VinFast VF5 facelift is a wildcard candidate for the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027. The Vietnamese manufacturer has been increasing its presence in India, and an updated version of its compact electric SUV could be one of the models to watch.

A design patent filed in India has revealed possible updates to the VF5’s exterior. These reportedly include revised lighting elements, updated bumpers, a redesigned bonnet and changes to the rear styling. Test mule sightings have also added to speculation about an updated model.
The facelift could receive interior changes, potentially including a larger touchscreen and a revised centre console. However, these details have not been confirmed for the Indian market. VinFast is included in the reported exhibitor list for the 2027 event, but the brand has not announced an Indian launch timeline for the facelift or confirmed that it will be showcased at the Expo. Also, VinFast is planning to launch its electric scooter lineup in India soon, so it is very likely that we might get to see some two-wheelers from the brand as well.
What About The Renault Bridger EV?

Renault’s upcoming Bridger could also attract attention at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027. The compact SUV is expected to enter production in 2027, and reports suggest that Renault is considering multiple powertrain options for the model.
The manufacturer has also confirmed that the Bridger will be offered with a fully electric powertrain in India. Petrol, hybrid and electric versions have been discussed, but the final powertrain lineup remains unclear as of now.
What The Expected Expo Lineup Could Mean For Indian EV Buyers
The potential electric vehicle lineup at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027 highlights how quickly India’s EV market is expanding beyond compact electric cars and SUVs.
Maruti Suzuki’s YMC could bring a more practical, three-row electric MPV to the market, while Hyundai’s Ioniq P could make EV ownership more accessible in the sub-four-metre SUV segment.
Honda’s 0 Alpha could introduce another major manufacturer to India’s electric SUV space. Meanwhile, Mahindra’s BE.07 and Tata’s Avinya-based EV could strengthen the mid-size and premium electric SUV segments, respectively. The premium segment could see its own share of attention with BMW’s long-wheelbase iX3. At the same time, JSW Motors’ potential Jaecoo J5 EV could introduce another locally assembled electric SUV.
For buyers, the most important development could be the growing variety of electric vehicles across different price and body-style segments. Instead of choosing between a handful of electric SUVs, customers could soon have more options catering to family use, urban commuting and long-distance travel. The event could also provide a closer look at how manufacturers are approaching localisation, battery technology, charging capability and connected vehicle features. However, the actual impact will depend on which models are displayed and how close they are to production.
