River Indie Price in Bengaluru
| Price component | Amount |
|---|---|
| Ex-showroom price (with PM E-Drive subsidy) | Rs 1,46,799 |
| Road tax | Nil (waived for EVs) |
| Insurance (approx.) | Rs 7,340 |
| Other charges | Rs 1,470 |
| On-road price | Rs 1.56 lakh (approx.) |
Before the PM E-Drive subsidy, the Indie’s ex-showroom price is about Rs 1.52 lakh. However, River’s listed price already includes the subsidy, so most buyers pay the lower figure. Moreover, Karnataka waives road tax on EVs, which keeps the on-road price close to ex-showroom.
Price per Kilometre of Range
One useful way to judge value is the price you pay for each kilometre of claimed range. The Indie works out to about Rs 901 per km. In comparison, its platform twin, the Yamaha EC-06, works out to about Rs 992 per km. As a result, the Indie gives you the same basic hardware and range for less money.
Running Cost Savings
With home charging, the Indie costs roughly Rs 0.32 per km to run. In comparison, a 110cc petrol scooter costs about Rs 2.10 per km in fuel. At 1,000 km a month, that saves about Rs 1,780 a month, or over Rs 21,000 a year. Moreover, lower maintenance costs add to the savings over time.
What the Price Includes
The River Indie price includes the 750 W home charger and a standard warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km. Moreover, you get 55 litres of storage, SafeGuards, pannier stays, a 6-inch colour display and parking assist. However, accessories like pannier boxes, a top box and a floor cage cost extra. An extended warranty to 5 years or 50,000 km costs about Rs 4,999 plus GST.
River Indie Price vs Rivals
| Model | Ex-showroom price | Claimed range | Top speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| River Indie | Rs 1.47 lakh | 163 km | 90 km/h |
| Yamaha EC-06 | Rs 1.68 lakh | 169 km | 79 km/h |
| Ather Rizta Z | Rs 1.37 to 1.57 lakh | Up to 161 km | 80 km/h |
| Bajaj Chetak C3501 | Rs 1.52 lakh | 153 km | 80 km/h |
| Hero Vida V2 | Rs 1.51 to 1.55 lakh | 143 to 165 km | 80 to 90 km/h |
The Indie matches or beats most rivals on range and speed while costing less than several of them. Moreover, none of them match its storage. However, the Ather Rizta Z and Hero Vida V2 offer more smart features and larger service networks. Therefore, the Indie suits buyers who put practicality first.
