Most Likely The Mahindra BE 07
A heavily camouflaged Mahindra electric SUV has been spotted testing on Bengaluru roads, and several design clues suggest that this is the upcoming Mahindra BE 07. The latest prototype appears significantly larger and more upright than the BE 6, with a conventional SUV silhouette rather than the coupe-inspired shape used by the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The thick C-pillar, sharply raked rear windscreen, and overall glasshouse also closely resemble previous BE 07 test mules. Mahindra has already been extensively testing the model in India, with earlier prototypes revealing features such as frameless doors, flush-fitting handles, and a triple-screen dashboard.
New Spy Shots Reveal The Rear Design

The biggest revelation in these latest images is the rear. The test mule features large vertical LED tail lamps, extending downwards along the outer edges of the tailgate before turning inward at the bottom. This creates an almost squared C-shaped lighting signature, which would fit well with Mahindra’s current Born Electric design language.
Earlier BE 07 prototypes were photographed with temporary rear lighting units, meaning this could potentially be our first look at something closer to the production tail-lamp design. A substantial roof spoiler is also visible above the sharply angled rear windscreen. Previous spy reports suggest the rear wiper could eventually be hidden underneath this spoiler. From the side, the SUV gets large aerodynamically styled alloy wheels, prominent squared wheel arches, conventional ORVMs and flush-mounted door handles.
Triple Screens And A Tech-Heavy Cabin Expected

Previous BE 07 spy shots have already provided a fairly clear look inside the cabin. The production model is expected to feature three displays stretching across the dashboard — one each for the instrument cluster, infotainment system and front passenger. That would bring it closer to the XEV 9e and XEV 9S rather than the dual-screen setup originally seen on the BE 6.
Other expected features include a panoramic glass roof, connected tech, ambient lighting, a 360-degree surround-view camera and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The BE 07 is expected to remain a five-seat SUV, despite its relatively large dimensions.
INGLO Platform With 59 kWh And 79 kWh Batteries Expected

Underneath, the BE 07 will use Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO electric architecture, shared with the BE 6, XEV 9e and the Mahindra XEV 9S. The original concept measured 4,565mm long, 1,900mm wide and 1,660mm tall, with a 2,775mm wheelbase. Mahindra’s production model is expected to retain broadly similar proportions.
Powertrain specifications haven’t been announced yet, although the production SUV is widely expected to share the 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs already used by Mahindra’s newer ‘Born Electric’ vehicles. Rear-wheel drive is likely to form the core of the range, while an all-wheel-drive configuration could also be offered on higher variants.
Mahindra BE 07 Launch And Rivals
Mahindra initially announced an October 2026 launch target for the BE 07 concept, but that schedule has since changed. The brand confirmed during its FY26 earnings discussions that the production BO7-based SUV will arrive sometime in the calendar year 2027.
Once launched, the BE 07 will sit above the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq and compete with electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7. It could also overlap with Mahindra’s own XEV 9e depending on its eventual price positioning.
SearchEV Says
The latest test mule appears considerably closer to a showroom-ready BE 07 than some of the early prototypes. More importantly, the large vertical tail lamps give the SUV its own identity rather than making it simply look like a stretched BE 6.
Its more conventional SUV proportions could also work in its favour. While Mahindra’s current born-electric products lean heavily into dramatic styling, the BE 07 appears to offer something more practical and family-orientated. The identity of this particular prototype hasn’t been officially confirmed, but the proportions and design details make the BE 07 the strongest possibility.
