Variants and Feature Levels

The Windsor EV comes in five variants. First, the Excite covers the basics, including LED lights and six airbags. Next, the Exclusive adds 18-inch alloys, leatherette upholstery and LED cornering lights. Then, the Essence brings the big comfort upgrades, such as the glass roof, ventilated seats and Infinity audio. Meanwhile, the Exclusive Pro pairs Exclusive-level features with the bigger battery. Finally, the Essence Pro combines everything with Level 2 ADAS.

Exterior Features

The Windsor’s design stands out with its smooth, wind-cheating AeroGlide shape. Up front, StarStreak LED positioning lamps sit above LED projector headlamps, while an illuminated MG logo adds a modern touch. Along the sides, flush door handles keep the profile clean. At the rear, Smart Flow connected LED tail lamps stretch across the tailgate. Higher variants also ride on stylish 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Interior and Comfort Features

Comfort is where the Windsor truly shines. Most notably, the Aero-Lounge rear seats recline far back, so rear passengers can stretch out on long trips. Overhead, the Infinity View glass roof makes the cabin feel bright and airy. In addition, ventilated front seats help during hot Indian summers, and rear AC vents keep everyone cool. Other touches include 256-colour ambient lighting, a rear centre armrest with cup holders and a powered tailgate. Plus, the 60:40 split rear seats fold down for extra luggage.

Infotainment and Technology

The dashboard centres on a massive 15.6-inch GrandView touchscreen, one of the largest in its class. Alongside it, a digital driver’s display shows key information. Also, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come included, along with a wireless phone charger. For music lovers, higher variants offer a 9-speaker Infinity sound system. Moreover, USB Type-C ports sit in both rows for charging devices.

Driving and Convenience Features

The Windsor is easy to drive in the city. For example, a steering column-mounted e-shifter frees up space on the centre console. Furthermore, four drive modes (Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport) let drivers balance range and response. Cruise control, smart entry and fully automatic climate control also make daily trips more relaxed.

Safety Features

Every Windsor EV comes with six airbags, ESP, all four disc brakes and a tyre pressure monitoring system. In addition, an electric parking brake with auto hold helps in stop-and-go traffic. Higher variants add a 360-degree camera, LED cornering lights and rear fog lamps. On the top Essence Pro, Level 2 ADAS brings adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist and automatic emergency braking.

Before You Buy

The Windsor relies heavily on its touchscreen, so there are very few physical buttons. Some drivers find this frustrating at first, so try it on a test drive. Also, the comfort-tuned suspension favours a soft ride over sporty handling. Finally, if you want the glass roof or ventilated seats, skip the Exclusive Pro, since it doesn’t offer them.
