The Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model serves as the primary factor that has driven down prices. The system allows customers to pay less money upfront because it splits the vehicle cost and battery price into two parts.

The vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 70 km/h, which makes it suitable for both normal urban driving and extended distance travel. Charging from 0 to 80 per cent takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes using a regular 5A socket, while fast charging brings that down to around 62 minutes. The feature list includes ride modes (Eco and Ride), a 4.3-inch LCD, reverse parking, remote immobilisation, and a ‘ping my scooter’ function.
2. TVS Orbiter V1
TVS introduced the Orbiter V1 with a BaaS option at Rs 49,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Without the BaaS setup, the price goes up to Rs 84,500. It is powered by a 1.8 kWh battery pack that delivers an IDC range of 86 km. The scooter comes equipped with a coloured LCD, LED headlamp with visor, incoming call alerts, and smartphone connectivity through a dedicated app.
In terms of practicality, it gets a long 845 mm flat seat and a 290 mm footboard, along with 34 litres of under-seat storage. Charging from 0 to 80 per cent takes around 2 hours and 20 minutes. TVS also offers an extended warranty of up to 5 years or 70,000 km.
3. Ampere Reo 80
The Ampere Reo 80 was launched in April 2025 at an introductory price of Rs 59,900 (ex-showroom). It’s a low-speed electric scooter built for short, everyday rides around the city. It uses an LFP battery pack that delivers a range of about 80 km on a full charge. The top speed is limited to 25 km/h, which means it does not require a driving licence or registration.
Feature highlights include a coloured LCD, front disc brake, keyless start with a premium key fob, and alloy wheels. It comes in dual-tone shades like Black, Red, Blue, and White, and is suited for first-time EV users, students, and everyday family use.
4. Komaki X-One
The Komaki X-One range is one of the most affordable electric scooter lineups in India, priced between Rs 34,999 and Rs 59,999 (ex-showroom), depending on the variant. The claimed range varies from 60 km to 150 km based on the battery configuration. The higher variants come with a 2.2 kWh lithium battery and a standard warranty of three years.
In terms of features, the X-One includes reverse assist, parking assist, multiple ride modes (Eco, Sport, Turbo), anti-theft lock, mobile charging port, and remote locking. It also comes with telescopic front suspension, along with OTA updates and regenerative braking, working with a BLDC hub motor.
5. Ola S1 Z
The Ola S1 Z is one of the newest additions to the budget electric scooter segment, designed specifically to target price-conscious buyers. With a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the scooter is expected to be priced at around ₹59,999 (ex-showroom, introductory), making it eligible for this list.
The S1 Z is powered by a removable battery setup and is expected to offer a practical range suitable for daily city commutes. Ola has positioned this scooter as a simple, no-frills option with essential features such as digital instrumentation, multiple riding modes, and connected tech via its app ecosystem. Built for short urban rides, the S1 Z focuses on affordability and ease of use rather than performance, making it ideal for first-time EV buyers and last-mile mobility needs.
