Since every Seal costs over Rs 25 lakh, Karnataka charges the higher 10% registration. On-road prices in other cities depend on each state’s EV tax rules, and some states offer bigger savings.
Which Variant Offers the Best Value
The Premium offers the best value in the range. For about Rs 4.7 lakh over the Dynamic, it adds 140 km of extra range, 107 bhp more power and a head-up display. Meanwhile, the Performance costs another Rs 7.5 lakh for all-wheel drive and a 3.8-second 0 to 100 time. The Dynamic, on the other hand, suits city drivers who want the lowest price.
Running Cost and Warranty
With home charging, the Seal costs roughly Rs 1.2 to Rs 1.5 per km to run, depending on your electricity tariff and variant. That’s far cheaper than a petrol luxury sedan. In addition, BYD offers an 8-year or 1.6 lakh km battery warranty and a 6-year or 1.5 lakh km vehicle warranty, which helps protect long-term value.

The Seal starts at about the same price as the Volvo EX30, but offers more space, range and power. Meanwhile, the Sealion 7 is BYD’s SUV alternative at a similar price. Notably, the Seal Performance costs about the same as the BMW iX1 LWB, yet is far quicker.
Price History
BYD launched the Seal in India in 2024 at Rs 41 lakh to Rs 53 lakh. Since then, prices have risen slightly to the current Rs 41.50 lakh to Rs 53.65 lakh. The Seal arrives in India as a fully imported CBU from China.
