Revolt launched a new electric sporty commuter bike in India called the Revolt RV X. Its prices start at Rs 1,29,990 (introductory ex-showroom), and with the government subsidy, it comes down to Rs 1,24,990.
The Revolt RV X is available in a single variant, and three colour schemes: Electric Blue, Pearl Black, and Eclipse Red. All of these colour schemes look good and go with the bike’s sporty design quite well.
While the RV X follows the same design language as the other Revolt bikes, it gets a sharp, aggressive-looking headlamp and muscular tank extensions. All of these elements come together to give it a very sporty look. The bike also has a chunky USD (Upside-down) fork that gives it a more buffed-up look. The tail section has become sleeker and has sporty graphics on it, but the taillamp is the same as the RV400.
Battery, Range And Performance
The RVX gets a 3.24 kWh, removable battery pack that gives it a claimed range of 160 km per charge. It is driven by a mid-mounted, chain-driven electric motor that puts out 5.3 kW of peak power, and 50 Nm of torque. The claimed top speed is 90 kmph.
The bike can be charged by two options: a standard charger, and a fast charger. With the standard charger, the bike takes about 4 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge. This time goes down to just 80 minutes for a 10-80% charge with a fast charger.
More Details About The Revolt RV X
The RV X comes equipped with an USD, and a monoshock absorber, dual-disc brakes with CBS (Combined Braking System), and rolls on 17-inch wheels that should give it good stability, along with decent handling.
For features, it gets an all-LED lighting setup, a 3.5-inch negative LCD display, and even a remote key fob. The bike also comes with a bunch of riding aids, like hill-hold assist, reverse mode, mobile connectivity, and geo-fencing, among other features.
What We Think
We think that this is the right step for the brand now, but the fruits of their actions could be delayed. The Indian market is not yet ready to accept electric bikes as the norm, like electric scooters, and this transition phase has yet to end.
Though Revolt was one of the first brands to launch an electric motorcycle in India and has built a decent reputation among the buyers, the price of this motorcycle is a bit higher than its competitors’. The major competitors include the Oben Rorr Evo (introductory price Rs 99,999) and the Ola Roadster (starts at Rs 1,04,999).
