Mahindra is heavily expanding its dedicated electric vehicle portfolio in India. The company made its green intentions clear with the launch of its born electric range of vehicles, like the XEV 9e and BE 6, and now they are already working on the next big release. Heavily camouflaged test vehicles of the Mahindra BE 07 (production nameplate may vary) have been spotted testing on public roads. The latest spy images finally give us some hints of what to expect inside the cabin, confirming some major tech upgrades.
Interior Tech and Three Screens
The biggest news from the recent sightings is what sits on the dashboard. The spy images clearly show a massive triple-screen setup. This means the driver gets a digital instrument cluster, the center gets a large infotainment screen, and the front passenger gets their own dedicated display. This layout allows the co-driver to manage music or navigation without interrupting the main driving screens. It mirrors the advanced setup found in the premium XEV 9S and 9E. The center console also has a floating design to free up storage space below.
A More SUV-Focused Design
Unlike the BE 6’s sporty sloping roof, the BE 07 uses a much more upright and square shape. This design choice will directly improve headroom for rear passengers and provide a larger boot for luggage. On the outside, the test cars show off thick C pillars, wide rear haunches, and large aerodynamic alloy wheels. It also brings some premium flair. The vehicle features frameless doors and door handles that sit flush with the bodywork. These elements help the car look expensive while reducing aerodynamic drag.
Battery, Platform, and Range
Under the metal skin, the SUV uses the Mahindra INGLO electric architecture. Because this platform is modular, it supports different battery sizes. We expect Mahindra will offer a 59 kWh battery pack for base models and a larger 79 kWh pack for higher trims. A 70 kWh mid-range option like the 9s can also make its way. If you opt for the bigger battery, the vehicle could deliver a claimed driving range of over 600 kilometres on a single charge.
