The Ather Redux has a sleek, body-colored front, a steeply slanted taillight, and a revised split seat with an elevated rear for a dynamic stance.
Ather Energy today unveiled Project Redux, its latest concept vehicle, which offers an aggressive maxi-scooter design with innovative features. During Ather’s annual Community Day event in Bengaluru, the Redux concept was introduced alongside the new EL platform and the EL01 concept.
Ather Project Redux features
The Ather Project Redux has a sharp, pointed front end framed by a body-color fairing. The taillight is set at a sharp angle, giving the scooter a stunning and distinct look. The rear half of the seat sits substantially higher, emphasizing its sporty nature. Earlier glimpses suggested it was a sports bike, but the new design definitely placed it in the maxi-scooter category.
Another standout feature is the revised seat. It is a 3D-printed mesh seat divided into two pieces that are parallel and separated by a gap. This setup transitions easily into the sharply designed tail, much like a performance bike. The seat also has the ‘ATHER’ trademark engraved in a concept.
Technology at the Core
The new concept model is based on modern technology. It introduces a “MorphUI” feature that allows the user interface to morph based on rider preferences. Unlike the horizontal screens found on existing Ather models, the Redux features a vertical display.
Mechanical upgrades also make it stand out. The scooter has haptics on the throttle for enhanced feedback and an adjustable suspension that automatically changes stance based on the rider’s position. In addition, Ather has created a unique “Take-off Mode” that lowers the center of gravity and alters steering dynamics for a livelier ride.
EL Platform
At the same event, Ather unveiled its EL (Entry-Level) platform, a modular, scalable vehicle architecture that draws on features of the existing 450 platform (such as battery and AtherStack components) while staying cost-effective.
The EL platform, designed for greater accessibility, is likely to power a variety of low-cost scooters aimed at the Indian and global markets. The production version is expected to come in 2026 at a sub-₹1 lakh (ex-showroom) price point.
After 12 years of developing its initial platform, Ather Energy has introduced its second platform, known as the “EL Platform.” The tubeless steel frame construction, drivetrain, and electrical configuration will remain unchanged. The battery pack, disc brakes, tyre sizes, and suspension have all been greatly improved. These changes are intended to result in purpose-built goods that are suited to the needs of various consumer groups. It also features advanced electronic braking.
Ather’s Broader Vision
The launch of Redux and the EL platform is part of Ather’s larger expansion strategy. The company’s market share has nearly doubled to 17%, and it is now the leading electric two-wheeler brand in South India and Gujarat.
