TVS has launched a new variant of the iQube electric in India. It is still called the TVS iQube S, and comes with a new 4.7 kWh battery pack. It replaces the recently discontinued TVS iQube S 3.7kWh variant. It is priced at Rs 1,54,440 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), and the effective on-road price is Rs 1,60,852. This TVS iQube S’s on-road pricing includes the Rs 6,110 insurance charges, Rs 1,762 registration fees, and Rs 3,540 as software upgrade charges. This cost also includes the Rs 5,000 PM e-Drive subsidy that has been waived off from the on-road cost.
The TVS iQube S’s design has remained unchanged, and this variant is offered in three colour schemes: Magnificence Purple Biege, Harlequin Blue Biege, and Titanium Grey. The scooter now gets a dual-tone seat and even a backrest.
The electric scooter is now powered by a 4.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which gives it a claimed range of 175 km. It takes around 4 hours to charge from 0% to 80% SoC (State of Charge) with the off-board charger. The claimed top speed is still the same at 82 kmph, offering similar performance.
The underpinnings of the scooter are the same as before, with a telescopic fork and a twin shock absorber suspension setup, a front disc and a rear drum unit for brakes, and 12-inch wheels wrapped in 90-section tyres. All the features have remained the same as the older 3.7kWh iQube S, with the same console, LED lighting setup and even the 32-litre boot.
We think this variant offers decent performance, along with a massive range for someone who commutes long distances. This is the perfect scooter for someone who wants a scooter that covers all the basics of a family scooter but is easy on the pocket as well – to buy and maintain. Now, with the addition of this variant, the iQube’s lineup is better defined and offers buyers clear choices.
