Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea C6 electric bike won a Red Dot Design Award, signaling its heritage-inspired EV launch early next year.
Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea C6 electric motorcycle has won the most esteemed Red Dot Award in the Design Concept category. It is quite obvious that the award is immensely significant for the much-anticipated EV debut next year, as the company is looking to launch Flying Flea as a new subsidiary of the company for its first electric model very early next year, leaving the scrambler variant to be launched later in 2026.
The concept prototype for the C6 was shown for the first time last November at EICMA 2024 in Milan, and represents the merging of past and future design elements and technologies. The Flying Flea brand refers to Royal Enfield’s WWII motorcycles, which are known for being lightweight and agile, and are often delivered by parachute straight to battlefield combat. The electric C6 intends to bring out that spirit of lightness, nimbleness, and versatility as a link between the rich past of Royal Enfield and its electric future.
What do the leaders have to say?
Sivakumar S, Head-Industrial Design for Flying Flea and Royal Enfield Electric Vehicles, spoke of the award, stating, “Every line and every detail of the Flying Flea C6 is a deliberate expression of that belief, where tradition meets future and technology serves emotion as much as function. “The Red Dot Award was a review of creativity and an encouragement toward implementation of that vision. And this gives us courage to build machines that motivate us to live lightly and to redefine how humans experience City+ mobility.”

It is being jointly developed by the Spanish electric two-wheel specialist Stark Future SL, which will serve as the base for a series of forthcoming electric vehicles from the brand. This Red Dot Award endorses Royal Enfield’s methodical approach to penetrating the electric motorcycle market with innovation in design, yet with sincere respect for the past.
