Royal Enfield has launched the Flying Flea C6 in Bengaluru at Rs 2.79 lakh. With the BaaS (Battery As A Service) scheme, the price comes down to just Rs 1.99 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). It is the first electric bike from the Indian retro-bike manufacturer and is only available in India’s first Flying Flea store, located in Jayanagar, Bengaluru.
On-road Price
In Bengaluru, the Flying Flea C6 will cost you Rs 2,94,241 on-road, which includes the Rs 2,97,230 ex-showroom price and insurance fees of Rs 15,011. Being an electric bike, the Flying Flea C6 has been exempted from the road tax and registration charges by the Karnataka government to boost EV adoption in the state.
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea’s bookings have started, and the amount is set at Rs 10,000, which is approximately 3.40% of the bike’s on-road pricing. This booking amount is quite accessible and should not be a hurdle for someone buying an Rs 3 lakh electric motorcycle.
The bike is also offered with the BaaS scheme at a significantly lower upfront cost, where the battery is offered on a subscription basis, and you pay a monthly premium for it, just like an EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment).
Here, the bike’s shell will set you back by about Rs 1.99 lakh, and the battery will be offered as a subscription service (loan) for tenures of 2, 3, 4, and 5 years. As of now IDFC Bank is the only official financier for this scheme for the brand. Do note that the BaaS EMI will depend on your credit score. But a more detailed breakdown of this scheme is yet to be given by the brand.
Financing Options
As per the brand’s website, the Flying Flea is offered in a bunch of different financing schemes. As per the on-road price, we have calculated a detailed breakdown of the EMI for different tenures that you might have to pay if you get the bike on loan. For this we have considered 40% of the bike’s total cost as a down payment, which is approximately Rs 1,17,696. So, the loan amount comes down to a total of 1,76,544. The considered interest rate is 9%, according to the market standard. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the cost:
| Tenure (In months) | EMI To Be Paid | Interest To Be Paid |
| 18 | Rs 11,132 | Rs 23,832 |
| 24 | Rs 8,680 | Rs 31,776 |
| 36 | Rs 6,228 | Rs 47,664 |
* (all of these are approximate figures.)
When considering all of these plans, do note that the final EMI amount and interest rate can vary as both of these depend on the buyer’s credit score and purchase history. For more information, we advise you to visit Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea showroom.
