MoEVing with Tata Motors dealers will deploy 700 Ace EVs across 10+ cities for last-mile delivery logistics and save almost 2,000 tonnes of carbon per year.
Electric mobility solutions player MoEVing has finally announced a collaboration with some of the biggest dealers in Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, a partnership that leases and deploys 700 small electric commercial vehicles (e-SCVs) towards revolutionising last-mile logistics in India. This further extends the fleet of MoEVing but also serves as a highly scalable and replicable model for the adoption of EVs within the commercial transport sector, from today, especially in terms of moving towards decarbonising urban delivery networks.
The Fleet and Deployment Map
High performance and reliability under real-world operating conditions characterise the new fleet comprising 700 zero-emission vehicles. The deployment is intended to address some of the nation’s most demanding urban logistics routes. The key features of the fleet rollout include:
- Vehicle Models: Tata Ace EV and Ace Pro EV
- Deployment Cities: The e-SCVs will strategically be rolled out to over ten high-demand urban centres. Some of the cities in which they will be deploying include: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
A Unique, Scalable Leasing Model
This is a new and pioneering business model, making life easier for companies to switch to electric mobility. Authorised commercial vehicle dealers of Tata Motors-Pascos, Johar Motors, and Bhandari Automobiles will take care of ownership and maintenance parameters of the fleet, while MoEVing will essentially handle operation as well as vehicle deployment. Such a model eliminates the concerns of managing fleets for any company while minimising upfront investment costs for enterprises.
Major Environmental Impact
The environmental dividends are going to be huge from the deployment of EVs at this scale, thus supporting India’s Net Zero goal of having all its greenhouse gas emissions neutralised by the year 2070. These 700 electric vehicles are expected to bring about a very positive environmental change to the urban logistics scene.
The expected impact includes:
- Annual Green Kilometres: Around 25 million kilometres of emission-free delivery.
- Annual Carbon Reduction: An estimated reduction of 2,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.
Serving Key Sectors
Over 20 enterprise clients will use the new 700 e-SCVs to meet the different logistics needs. The focus will be on the core sectors that have a high dependence on speed and efficiency in urban last-mile transportation.
- E-commerce
- Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
- Third-party logistics providers (3PL)
Corporate Vision for Green Mobility
Leaders from both organisations highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership. Pinaki Haldar, Vice President and Business Head of SCVPU at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, highlighted the synergy: “This partnership with MoEVing marks a pivotal step in scaling sustainable last-mile logistics. The Ace EV models are engineered for performance and reliability, backed by our strong network of over 200 EV support centres nationwide.”
“Our innovative business model for operating them on lease will enable scalable, cost-effective deployment of electric vehicles, streamlining fleet ownership and accelerating clean mobility adoption across the country,” said Vikash Mishra, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, MoEVing.
Here is a summary of the key features of the deployment below:
| Parameter | Detail |
| No. of EVs Deployed | 700 e-SCVs |
| Vehicle Models | Tata Ace EV & Ace Pro EV |
| Deployment Cities | 10+ major cities (e.g., Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru) |
