Kinetic Engineering Ltd., through its subsidiary Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd (KWVL), is about to make a considerable leap in the electric two-wheeler market in India. Based on its long-term product roadmap, the company announced plans that include introducing new vehicle categories and setting ambitious production targets.
To support this whole process, the company has committed to developing essential components in-house, thereby positioning itself for enormous growth in the electric mobility industry in the coming years.
New Electric Vehicles
The Kinetic company has an electric vehicle lineup that will consist of three different segments in the next couple of years. It means, along with traditional electric scooters and new electric motorcycles, there will also be specialised e-bikes, designed specifically for the commercial sector, for example, last-mile delivery. The company has planned a wide range of products to meet both consumer and business demand.
Ambitious Output Targets
Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd has set specific and high-volume production goals. The first part of this target is to sell 5,000 electric two-wheelers by March 2026. The target of production is to reach 60,000 units by the end of the financial year 2026-27.
Self-Reliance Strategy
Vertical integration is highlighted as a major factor in the expansion plan. The new EV models will rely on internally developed key components. This development includes motors, controllers, and battery packs, which are some of the key elements in EVs. The battery supply issue will be addressed by Kinetic’s Range-X facility, which is capable of producing 60,000 LFP and NMC batteries annually.
Expanding Retail Base
With the increase in the product volume and market reach, Kinetic is vigorously working on building a strong sales and service network, which is essential to support this increase. The company envisions a countrywide network of 500 dealers and service outlets. This extensive retail base will facilitate effective sales, distribution, and after-sales support for the electrifying electric vehicle portfolio.
Training and Global Plan
Kinetic Watts & Volts has set up a specialised facility, the ‘Kinetic Lab,’ for its designated EV training. This lab is designed to train technicians, service engineers, and dealer personnel in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of battery systems. It has also planned new international operations by 2027, alongside its domestic strategy, as the next phase toward international EV expansion.
