Tata Punch EV Smart+ 30 Features
This variant makes daily driving more convenient. Inside, you get a 20.32 cm (8-inch) Harman touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you can use your phone’s maps and music on the big screen. Steering-mounted controls let you change songs and take calls without taking your hands off the wheel. You also get dual 65W USB-C fast charging ports, a remote key, toggle-style window switches, fully automatic climate control, a 10.16 cm (4-inch) instrument cluster and a height-adjustable driver seat.
Outside, you get smart digital DRLs, a shark-fin antenna, ORVMs with side indicators, an electric tailgate release and R15 steel wheels with hubcaps. The iRA.ev app adds connected car features with smartwatch connectivity. The Smart+ comes in four colours: Supernova Copper, Bengal Rouge, Pure Grey and Pristine White.
Tata Punch EV Smart+ 30 Safety Features
For safety, you get six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill hold, iTPMS, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors, high beam alert and impact sensing auto door unlock. The Punch EV has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, and the battery and motor are IP67 rated.
Tata Punch EV Smart+ 30 Range and Charging
The Smart+ 30 has a certified range of 365 to 375 km. Tata’s own real-world estimate is 260 to 275 km, and actual range depends on speed, traffic, AC use and road conditions. With a 65 kW DC fast charger, it goes from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes. At home, a 7.2 kW AC wall box charges it from 10 to 100% in about 4 hours 30 minutes, so overnight charging works well. The battery gets a warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 km, whichever is earlier.
What the Smart+ 30 Does Not Have
The Smart+ 30 does not get a reverse camera, EPB with auto hold, paddle shifters for regen or the Eco drive mode. These come with the Smart+ 40. It also misses push button start, cruise control and hill descent control, which start from the Adventure. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the bigger 26.03 cm touchscreen come in the Empowered.
What the Smart+ 40 Adds Over the Smart+ 30
The Smart+ 40 has the same features plus the bigger 40 kWh battery. For Rs 80,000 more, you get 127 bhp (95 kW) instead of 87 bhp, a certified range of 468 km instead of 365 to 375 km, and a quicker 0 to 100 km/h time of 9.0 seconds. It also adds the Eco drive mode, paddle shifters for regen, EPB with auto hold, a reverse parking camera, R16 steel wheels and a jewelled drive selector knob.
Who Should Buy the Tata Punch EV Smart+ 30?
This variant suits buyers who want a touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay at a lower price, and who drive mostly in the city with home charging. It works well for daily commutes where the 30 kWh battery is more than enough. If you take regular highway trips or want a reverse camera, the Smart+ 40 is worth the extra Rs 80,000.
