Tata Punch EV Empowered 40 Features
This is where the Punch EV gets properly premium. Inside, you get a 26.03 cm (10.25-inch) Harman touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 26.03 cm digital cockpit with navigation, the Arcade.ev app suite and voice assistants like “Hey Tata”, Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant. Comfort goes up with an air purifier, a front armrest with storage, a cooled glove box, 65W USB-A and USB-C fast charging and a 15W rear USB-C port. You also get Alexa car-to-home control, push button start and cruise control.
Outside, the Empowered gets R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, electric auto-folding ORVMs, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, a rear wiper with defogger, a dual-tone roof and connected tail lamps. It also opens up two more colours: Fearless Yellow and Empowered Oxide.
For driving, you get three drive modes: Eco, City and Sport, paddle shifters for the four regen levels, EPB with auto hold and hill descent control.
Tata Punch EV Empowered 40 Safety Features
For safety, you get six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill hold, hill descent control, iTPMS, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors and impact sensing auto door unlock. On top of that, the Empowered adds a 360-degree camera and a blind spot monitor, which make city parking and lane changes much easier. The Punch EV has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, and the battery and motor are IP67 rated.
Tata Punch EV Empowered 40 Range and Charging
The Empowered 40 has a certified range of 468 km. Tata’s own real-world estimate is 335 to 355 km, and actual range depends on speed, traffic, AC use and road conditions. With a 65 kW DC fast charger, it goes from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes, and a 15-minute top-up can add up to 135 km. At home, a 7.2 kW AC wall box charges it from 10 to 100% in about 5 hours 18 minutes. The battery gets a lifetime warranty for the first private owner.
What the Empowered 40 Does Not Have
The Empowered 40 does not get a sunroof, ventilated front seats or leatherette seats. It also misses smart LED headlamps, LED fog lamps with cornering, a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming IRVM, SOS calling, roof rails and a rear armrest. All of these come in the Empowered+ S.
What the Empowered+ S 40 Adds Over the Empowered 40
The Empowered+ S 40 has the same battery, motor and range. For just Rs 30,000 more, it adds a voice-assisted electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, leatherette seats, smart LED headlamps, LED fog lamps with cornering, a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming IRVM, SOS calling, roof rails and a rear armrest.
Who Should Buy the Tata Punch EV Empowered 40?
This variant suits buyers who want premium tech like the big touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 360-degree camera, along with the 468 km range. It works well for city drivers who park in tight spots and for families who take regular highway trips.
