River EV opens its first store in North India, Delhi, and launches the Indie Gen 3 scooter. It features 161km range, 55L storage, and hill-hold assist.
Electric vehicle startup River EV has officially begun its North India expansion foray with the launch of its flagship store in Delhi this first week of August. To underscore this important step, the company also launched the newly refreshed Indie Gen 3 electric scooter, which comes with a retail price of ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The expansion aims to tap into the northern market with the upgraded Indie Gen 3, which features significant technological improvements and better features to make urban commuting easier and more enjoyable for a wider audience.
River Comes to North India with Delhi Store
After starting up in Bangalore, River EV has now opened its first company-owned store in North India, located in Rajouri Garden, Delhi. This new outlet will be the nerve centre for sales, service, and training as the brand aggressively pursues growth throughout the country. With this, the company now has a total of 34 stores in India, covering all big cities, including Chennai, Hyderabad, and Pune.
What’s New in the Indie Gen 3 Scooter?
The latest Indie Gen 3 also receives upgrades, mainly based on rider feedback. Attention was therefore focused on enhancing the riding experience and technology.
- Upgraded Tyres: Better tyres have been added, ensuring better grip and safer riding dynamics.
- New Display: The Digital dashboard has been completely redesigned to give clear information on range and charging in a combined manner.
- Smart Features: Hill-Hold Assist has been added to the scooter’s controls, preventing it from rolling back when on slopes; additionally, there is increased integration with the mobile app for ride statistics and real-time charging status.

River EV has a huge plan to expand its retail network tremendously. It plans to increase its total store count to 80 outlets by March 2026. The next big expansion phase is expected to focus largely on the core states of North India, including Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
The Indie scooter’s basic design principles have been based on potency and versatility. It is fitted with 14-inch wheels and a wide flat floorboard suited for different urban roads and carrying cargo.
