      Quick Reads

      • Simple Wave is the brand’s first family-orientated product
      • The Wave is positioned below the Simple One range of scooters
      • Gets 70 litres of combined storage space, the largest ever seen on a scooter
      • Claimed range of up to 243 km from its 5 kWh battery pack
      • The design is ‘Dolphin’ -inspired, and looks quite elegant
      • Gets four battery pack options: 2.2 kWh, 2.7 kWh, 3.7 kWh, and 5.0 kWh
      • The Ather Konarc, Ather Rizta, TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak are the primary rivals
      • Price starts at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom).

Simple Energy has launched a new family-focused electric scooter in India, called the Simple Wave. It is the brand’s first family electric scooter, with prices starting from Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The deliveries of the Simple Wave start from September 25, 2026.

      Simple Wave Price and Variants

The Simple Wave is available in three variants: Simple WaveS, Simple Wave, and Simple Wave Plus.

Simple Wave Variant Battery Claimed Range Price
      Wave S 2.2 kWh 110 km Rs 1,09,999
      2.7 kWh 132 km Rs 1,39,999 – 1,49,999
      Wave S Standard 3.7 kWh 171 km Rs 1,59,999 – 1,74,999
Wave Plus 5 kWh 243 km Rs 1,89,999

      *All prices are ex-showroom

We think that the pricing of Simple Wave is quite crucial. It does offer premium hardware from the Simple Energy’s compact scooter range but comes at a lower price tag. Rather than asking the buyers to pay a premium for the performance, the brand has equipped the scooter with things that matter to the average Indian consumer: price, range, comfort, storage and everyday usability.

      Simple Wave Design

The Simple Wave is built on the same architecture as the other Simple Energy scooters. The Wave’s design is inspired by the ‘Dolphin’, which actually makes it look quite elegant, even cute to an extent. The front apron houses the LED headlamps, with a simple-style DRL that looks absolutely stunning. The body panels are smooth and run along the side panels, merging in the tail section beautifully for a clean look. On the sides, there is the new ‘Pill’ storage compartment, which has a storage space of up to 4 litres. Assisting the pills storage is a 3-litre front glove box, which, when paired with the massive 63-litre boot, sums up to a combined storage capacity of 70 litres, which is the most we have seen on an ICE as well as an electric scooter to date. All in all, we think this is a fairly good-looking scooter.

Simple Wave Range, Battery and Performance

The biggest highlight of the Simple Wave is its 243 km on a single charge from its 5 kWh battery pack, which is available in the top-spec Wave Plus variant. The Simple Wave is available with four battery packs spread across its 6 variants.

It also gets a chain-driven electric motor that puts out a peak power of 6.4 kW, which is actually more than other scooters in its price bracket and affordable electric scooter segment. The top speed is 90 kmph for the top-end Plus variant, but the speed of the base variant is yet to be disclosed. The 0 to 40 kmph acceleration time is around 3.3 seconds, which is quite quick for a family scooter, which the brand claims is an essential requirement in today’s market, as most family scooters are dull to ride, and the excitement to ride them fades out in a few days. This bump in performance should keep the Simple Wave quite fun to ride, even for your eagerest family members.

      Performance Simple Wave
      Motor Gen 3 electric motor
      Peak power 6.4 kW
      Battery options 2.2 kWh–5 kWh
Maximum claimed range Up to 243 km
      Maximum top speed 90 kmph
      Entry-level top speed 75 kmph
      Maximum gradeability 20 degrees

The Wave gets three riding modes: EcoX, Eco and Ride, while higher variants add Sport mode. The top-spec versions can reach 90 kmph, while the entry-level versions are limited to 75 kmph.

      Riding Mode Availability in Variant
      EcoX Standard across all variants
      Eco Standard across all variants
      Ride Standard across all variants
Sport Only in Wave and Wave Plus

Simple has also equipped the Wave with smart charging technology, while higher-spec versions support fast charging. The scooter gets an SOC display to keep the rider informed about the battery charge level.

Simple Wave Suspension, Brakes And More

While the Simple Wave is based on the same architecture and platform as the Simple One, it ditches the rear monoshock for a twin shock absorber setup. Assisting this setup is the telescopic unit at the front, which is fitted on a 12-inch alloy, wrapped with a 90-section tyre.

As it goes quite fast, the stopping power is put down by a front disc and a rear drum unit, assisted by a CBS (Combined Braking System), which distributes the braking force evenly between the wheels for more predictable, and precise braking.

      Underpinnings Simple Wave
Platform Same as the One series, but modified
      Front suspension Telescopic fork
      Rear suspension Twin shock absorbers
      Front brake Disc
      Rear brake Drum
      Braking system CBS
      Wheels 12-inch alloy
      Ground clearance 175 mm

      Simple Wave Practicality

The Simple Wave is not just fast and tech-loaded but also equally practical. It gets a combined storage space of around 70 litres, which is distributed as a 63-litre underseat storage, a 4-litre ‘Pillbox’ storage, and a 3-litre glovebox. All of these make the Simple Wave a lot more family-orientated, as you can fit at least two helmets in the boot and still be left with more than enough storage for the daily groceries. It now also gets a centre stand, which should make it even more practical.

      Practicality Simple Wave
      Total storage 70 litres
      Underseat storage Large underseat compartment
      Front storage Apron cubby
      Seat length 920 mm
      Floorboard Flat
      Centre stand Yes

      Simple Wave Features

Simple has carried over a strong technology package to the Wave, similar to other Simple scooters that we have seen. The top-spec version gets a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, while the scooter also offers smartphone connectivity and a range of connected functions. The feature list includes live location sharing, geofencing, time fencing and smartwatch connectivity. The scooter also gets a USB port and state-of-charge display.

      Simple Wave Feature Availability
      7-inch TFT display Yes
      Smartphone connectivity Yes
      Live location sharing Yes
      Geofencing Yes
      Time fencing Yes
      Smartwatch connectivity Yes
      USB port Yes
      SOC display Yes
      Navigation Higher-spec variants
      Call/music controls Higher-spec variants

The Wave also gets several rider-assistance and safety features. Higher variants are equipped with ‘GripSense’ or traction control, while features such as ‘Drop Safe’ and ‘Super Hold’ improve safety and convenience during everyday commutes.

      Safety And Rider Assistance Availability
      CBS All variants
      Traction control/GripSense Higher variants
      Hill-hold assist Higher variants
      Drop Safe Yes
      Super Hold Yes
      Reverse mode Higher variants
      Crawl mode Higher variants
      Regenerative braking Higher variants

The Wave therefore combines the practicality expected from a family scooter with technology that is usually associated with more premium electric two-wheelers.

      SearchEV Says

With this launch, the Ather Konarc now has a fierce rival, which does come at a small premium over it but also justifies it. The 70-litre storage is very hard to ignore when we compare these scooters side-by-side, not only with the Konarc, but also with other scooters in the price bracket like the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and the Vida VX2. All in all, this is a solid product, and if Simple gets the pricing of its remaining variants right, this would be a gamechanger for the brand.
