JLR Range Rover Electric | Key Technical Information

The latest Range Rover Electric’s production-spec model, will be based on the Flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex), which also functions as a base work for ICE iterations. The platform also underpins the plug-in hybrid versions. Nonetheless, the Range Rover Electric features a mammoth battery pack with 118.5 kWh capacity and a two-motor configuration. The result: a configured output of 550 hp (410 kW) of power and 850 Nm of maximum torque.

With such a high-performance configuration, the JLR Range Rover Electric can clock 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds; it is significant by the standards of a luxury SUV. For quicker recharging, the vehicle also supports a 350 kW DC fast charger, achieving 10-80 percent state of charge in just 22 minutes. Additionally, a 10-minute top-up can help deliver 220 km of driving range.

Apart from these, the Range Rover Electric can climb steep inclines seamlessly with 45-degree gradeability. Also, the following are technological integrations that support the performance factor:

      • Intelligent Driveline Dynamic System: A terrain-based functionality that helps with torque distribution for high traction and vehicle control.
      • Traction Management System: Contributes to traction with controlled motor speeds within 50 milliseconds, handling slippage better than ICE counterparts.

Also, to point out, this new luxury electric SUV provides 900 mm water wading capacity similar to its ICE counterparts. To enhance ride comfort, the vehicle will feature dynamic air suspension too.

JLR Range Rover Electric | Exterior Design Attributes

The JLR Range Rover Electric looks mostly the same as its ICE counterpart, contributing to the same appeal the vehicle is popularised for amongst customers: strong and luxurious. It carries forward the LED lighting elements, both across the fascia and rear sections – a design language that is well suited for this electric iteration. Even the closed-off grille section looks similar to real vents on ICE models.

Towards the side portion, the JLR Range Rover carries unique Range Rover-specific graphics, complemented by an appealing colour scheme to blend well with the flush design language. Speaking of the same, the portion is equipped with flush door handles, complemented well by a contoured structure and a sharp crease running across the section to give a muscular appeal.

Coming towards the rear profile, the prominent display of dual shark-fin antennas quickly attracts attention from passersby – a unique element specific to the Range Rover Electric. For a seamless design attribution, the rear section features a rear spoiler that blends well with the roofline; it also neatly tucks away the rear wiper assembly. The aggressive lower bumper section is also noteworthy; it comes with a blend of silver trims, accentuated by glossy black panelling.

JLR Range Rover Electric | Interior Design Attributes

The in-cabin experience remains largely the same, featuring similar tech and switchgear integration borrowed from its ICE counterpart. The dashboard features a 13.1-inch display unit 13.7 inch digital driver’s display. That said, the dashboard, central console elements, and the use of a large display screen largely remain the same as the vehicle’s ICE luxury SUV counterpart.

      The Features List:

      • Dual Zone Climate Control System
      • Ventilated And Heated Seating Arrangement
      • Massaging Seat System
      • Premium/Luxury Sound System
      • Panoramic Sunroof

      Search EV’s Takeaway

Visually, the Range Rover Electric remains largely identical to its ICE counterpart, a good attribute that has a significant fanbase. That said, featuring subtle tweaks like the aero-optimised grille section, a new aerodynamic wheel, and unique EV badging, we feel the Range Rover Electric still has a unique appeal that will resonate well with customers in India looking for luxury SUVs that represent their identity.
