MG ZS EV Available With Rs 2.30 Lakh Discount
The MG ZS EV could be approaching the end of its current lifecycle in India, with our dealer sources suggesting that existing stock may not be replenished once sold. The dealer has also urged interested buyers to book immediately, citing limited stock availability.
As per the dealer contacted by SearchEV, an on-road discount of Rs 2.30 lakh is applicable to select variants of the MG electric SUV. However, the offer is restricted to specific variants and colours. Here’s a breakdown:
| Variant | Available Colour | Reported Discount |
| Exclusive Plus | Red | Rs 2.30 lakh |
| Essence | Black | Rs 2.30 lakh |
*The discount is a dealer-quoted on-road benefit. Availability and final pricing may vary by dealership.
Dealer Hints At ZS EV Supply Ending
Interestingly, the discount isn’t the biggest development. The dealership claims that once its existing inventory is exhausted, it will not receive additional ZS EV units from MG. This raises questions about whether the manufacturer is gradually winding down supplies of the current-generation SUV.
MG has not officially announced the ZS EV’s discontinuation, and the electric SUV continues to be visible on its official Indian website. Therefore, the dealer’s statement should not be interpreted as confirmation that nationwide sales or production have stopped.
MG ZS EV Replacement Expected In 2027
The development comes amid reports that MG is preparing an all-new replacement for the ZS EV and its petrol-powered counterpart, the MG Astor. The upcoming model is expected to use SAIC Motor’s SIGMA (SAIC Intelligent Global Modular Architecture) platform, which supports electric, hybrid and conventional petrol powertrains. A 2027 launch has been reported, although MG hasn’t officially confirmed the replacement’s launch date or specifications yet. You can read more about the manufacturer’s upcoming plans in our three upcoming MG electric cars in 2027 story.
If the current ZS EV is indeed approaching the end of its production cycle, an inventory-clearance exercise would be consistent with MG’s reported product plans. However, that connection remains speculative.
Is The Discounted MG ZS EV Worth Considering?
The current MG ZS EV uses a 50.3 kWh battery, offering a claimed 461 km range. Its electric motor produces approximately 177 PS and 280 Nm.
| Specification | MG ZS EV |
| Battery | 50.3 kWh |
| Claimed Range | 461 km |
| Peak Power | 176.75 PS |
| Peak Torque | 280 Nm |
| DC Charging (50kW, up to 80%) | Around 60 minutes |
The Rs 2.30 lakh discount could make the higher-spec variants more attractive, particularly for buyers prioritising equipment and driving range. However, buyers should verify the manufacturing date, complete on-road price breakdown, warranty coverage and availability before making a booking.
SearchEV Says
The dealer’s statement suggests that the current ZS EV could be entering a stock-clearance phase, especially with a next-generation replacement reportedly planned for 2027. Nevertheless, MG ZS EV discontinuation remains unconfirmed. Until the manufacturer clarifies its production and supply plans, the development should be treated as a dealership-level indication rather than an official announcement.
