What the Essence Adds Over the Exclusive
The Essence costs about Rs 1 lakh more than the Exclusive, and that money goes mainly into comfort. First, the Infinity View glass roof runs almost the full length of the cabin, so rear passengers enjoy an open, airy feel. Next, ventilated front seats make a real difference in hot Indian summers. In addition, the 9-speaker Infinity audio system replaces the standard speakers. Finally, 256-colour ambient lighting and a PM2.5 air filter complete the upgrade.
Features Carried Over From Lower Trims
The Essence also keeps everything from the Exclusive. For example, it gets the large 15.6-inch GrandView touchscreen, 18-inch diamond-cut alloys and a 360-degree camera. Moreover, a 6-way powered driver seat and a wireless phone charger come included. Of course, the reclining Aero-Lounge rear seats and six airbags remain standard too.
Charging and Daily Range
Unlike the Excite and Exclusive, the Essence comes with a 7.4 kW AC charger instead of a 3.3 kW unit. As a result, overnight home charging becomes much quicker. On a 45 kW DC fast charger, it goes from 20 to 80% in about 45 minutes. In real-world driving, expect roughly 250 to 270 km per charge, which covers most weekly city commutes.
What the Essence Misses
Despite its premium features, the Essence skips a few items. Most notably, it doesn’t get Level 2 ADAS, which only comes on the Essence Pro. It also misses V2L and V2V power sharing. Furthermore, its 332 km range may feel limiting on long highway trips.
