The M9’s size is its biggest strength. With a 3,200 mm wheelbase, the cabin offers more legroom than most luxury SUVs, especially in the second row. In addition, the tall roof makes it easy to walk in and out through the electric sliding doors. However, at over 5.2 metres long and 2 metres wide, it can feel large in narrow city lanes and tight basement parking.
Motor and Performance
A single permanent magnet synchronous motor drives the front wheels. It produces 242 bhp and 350 Nm, which feels smooth and calm rather than sporty. That suits an MPV designed for comfort. Moreover, drivers can choose between Eco, Normal and Sport modes, along with three levels of regenerative braking. On the highway, it cruises quietly and comfortably, even with a full load of passengers.
Battery, Range and Charging
The M9 uses a large 90 kWh NMC battery with 548 km of claimed range. In real-world driving, expect roughly 400 to 450 km, depending on load, speed and AC use. On a 160 kW DC fast charger, it goes from 10 to 100% in about 90 minutes. At home, an 11 kW AC wall box takes about 10 hours. So, overnight charging easily covers most daily use.
Suspension, Steering and Brakes
Up front, the M9 uses MacPherson struts, while the rear gets a 5-link independent setup tuned for comfort. As a result, it rides smoothly over most Indian roads. In addition, it gets disc brakes on all four wheels and 19-inch alloy wheels. An electric power steering system with a dual-pinion design keeps it light to manoeuvre at low speeds.
