At over 5.1 metres long with a 3,210 mm wheelbase, the EQS SUV ranks among the largest luxury EVs in India. The 450 uses that space for five seats, giving rear passengers extra room. In contrast, the 580 adds a third row, making it a rare seven-seat luxury EV. However, its sheer size makes tight city parking a challenge.

Both versions share a large 122 kWh battery. The EQS 450 claims up to 820 km, while the more powerful EQS 580 claims up to 809 km. Real-world range will be lower, especially with heavy AC use and a full load. Even so, long intercity trips like Bengaluru to Chennai should need no charging stop.

Each version uses two motors, one on each axle, for 4Matic all-wheel drive. The EQS 450 makes 355 bhp and 800 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in about 6.1 seconds. Meanwhile, the EQS 580 produces 536 bhp and 858 Nm, cutting that time to about 4.7 seconds. Drivers can choose from Eco, Comfort, Sport, Offroad and Individual modes, along with three regen levels.

With such a large battery, overnight home charging suits most owners. On longer trips, a 200 kW DC charger takes the battery from 10 to 80% in about half an hour. However, slower public chargers will take much longer.
