At over 5.2 metres long with a 3,210 mm wheelbase, the EQS 580 offers limousine-like rear legroom. Its sleek, fastback shape hides a large tailgate, opening up a 610-litre boot. As a result, it swallows luggage for four adults with ease. However, its length makes it tricky to park in tight city spaces.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic Specifications: Battery and Range
The EQS 580 uses a large 107.8 kWh battery, claiming up to 857 km on the ARAI cycle. In real-world use, owners and testers report around 600 to 680 km, still one of the best figures in India. Its slippery, aerodynamic body plays a big part in this efficiency. Therefore, a Bengaluru to Goa trip is easily possible on a single charge.
EQS 580 Motor and Performance
Two motors, one on each axle, give the EQS 580 4Matic all-wheel drive. Together, they produce 523 bhp and about 855 Nm. As a result, this 2.6-tonne sedan sprints to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 210 km/h. Meanwhile, multiple regen levels let drivers fine-tune how much the car slows when lifting off.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic Charging Time
| Charger | Charging time |
|---|---|
| 200 kW DC fast charger (10 to 80%) | About 30 minutes |
| 22 kW AC wall box, optional (0 to 100%) | About 5 to 6 hours |
| 11 kW AC wall box, standard (0 to 100%) | About 10 hours |
On a 200 kW DC charger, just 15 minutes adds around 300 km of range. At home, the standard 11 kW wall box refills the large battery overnight. Buyers who want faster home charging can choose the optional 22 kW unit.
EQS 580 Suspension and Steering
The EQS 580 rides on AIRMATIC air suspension with adaptive dampers, giving it a smooth, hushed ride. In addition, rear-axle steering turns the rear wheels to make this long sedan easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces. Disc brakes sit at all four corners.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic Warranty and Build
Mercedes covers the battery for 8 years or 1.6 lakh km. Notably, the EQS 580 was the brand’s first EV assembled in India, at its Chakan plant near Pune. For the on-road price breakdown, see the EQS 580 price page. To compare it with its closest rival, check the BMW i7 specifications.
