The CLA EV’s low, coupe-like shape helps its efficiency. On top of a 405-litre boot, it offers a large 101-litre frunk, which easily holds charging cables and soft bags. Mercedes also raised the suspension for Indian roads, giving it 160 mm of ground clearance. However, the sloping roof limits rear headroom for tall passengers.
Mercedes-Benz CLA EV Specifications: Battery and Range
The CLA 200 uses a 58 kWh battery with up to 542 km of WLTP range. Meanwhile, the CLA 250+ uses a larger 85 kWh battery, claiming up to 792 km, among the longest ranges of any EV in India. In real-world driving, expect noticeably less. Even so, the 250+ should handle long intercity trips with ease.
Mercedes-Benz CLA EV Specifications: Motor and Performance
Both versions use a single motor driving the rear wheels. The CLA 250+ produces 268 bhp and 335 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in about 6.7 seconds. In contrast, the CLA 200 trades some power for a lower price. Top speed is limited to 210 km/h for both. Drivers can choose Comfort, Sport, Eco and Individual modes, along with several regen levels.

Thanks to its 800V architecture, the CLA 250+ ranks among the fastest-charging EVs in India. However, most Indian public chargers offer far less than 320 kW, so real charging stops will usually take longer. At home, an 11 kW wall box refills the battery overnight.
CLA EV Suspension, Tyres and Brakes
The CLA EV uses MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup. It rides on 235/45 R18 low rolling resistance tyres, with disc brakes on all four wheels.
