With up to 542 km of claimed range, the CLA 200 easily covers a week of city commuting. Real-world range will be lower, especially with heavy AC use. Even so, a Bengaluru to Mysuru round trip of about 300 km sits comfortably within reach. At home, an 11 kW wall box refills the battery overnight.
CLA 200 Performance
The CLA 200 uses a single 165 kW motor driving the rear wheels. It reaches 100 km/h in about 7.5 seconds, which feels brisk in city traffic and on highway overtakes. Meanwhile, Mercedes raised the suspension for Indian roads, giving it 160 mm of ground clearance. Drivers can choose Comfort, Sport, Eco and Individual modes.
Mercedes-Benz CLA EV 200 Features
Even as the entry version, the CLA 200 feels well equipped. It gets the MBUX system with a 14-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch driver display. A panoramic roof and 64-colour ambient lighting make the cabin feel premium. In addition, MB.DRIVE assistance brings DISTRONIC, lane keeping and Blind Spot Assist. You also get wireless phone charging and the AI-powered MBUX Virtual Assistant.
What the CLA 200 Misses
The CLA 200 skips the larger 85 kWh battery and the 792 km range of the CLA 250+. It also misses AMG Line styling, the AMG steering wheel and AMG upholstery. Finally, the third passenger display comes only on the Launch Edition.
