The Carens Clavis EV’s 2,780 mm wheelbase is among the longest in its price range, giving adults enough room even in the third row. With all three rows in use, the boot holds 216 litres, enough for a few soft bags. Folding the third row frees up much more space. In addition, a 25-litre frunk stores charging cables.
Kia Carens Clavis EV Battery and Range Specifications
The 42 kWh battery claims 404 km, while the 51.4 kWh battery claims 490 km. These are the same batteries used in the Hyundai Creta Electric and Kia Syros EV. However, since the Carens Clavis EV is a heavier three-row MPV, it claims less range from each pack. In real-world testing, the Extended Range version has delivered about 383 km, with up to 417 km in the city.
Motor and Performance
Both versions use a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with 255 Nm of torque. The Extended Range version makes 169 bhp, reaching 100 km/h in about 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 166 km/h. Meanwhile, the 42 kWh version makes 133 bhp. Drivers get Eco, Normal and Sport modes, plus four regen levels (0 to 3).

Suspension, Tyres and Brakes
The Carens Clavis EV uses MacPherson strut front suspension and a coupled torsion beam rear setup. Depending on the variant, it rides on 215/60 R16 or 215/55 R17 low rolling resistance tyres. In addition, it gets disc brakes on all four wheels and a 125/80 D16 space-saver spare.
